After months of waiting, Google is finally showing off the final version of Android Wear 2.0. Since the announcement last year, not much has changed, Android Wear 2.0 is still focusing on simplifying the core experience which is interacting with notifications and tracking fitness data. To showcase the new features of Android Wear 2.0, Google has partnered up with LG to create two new smartwatches. The LG Watch Syle and LG Watch Sport will be the first to run Android Wear 2.0.

Probably the biggest addition to Android Wear 2.0 is the Google Assistant which has been available on several other google devices like the Pixel phones and Google Home hub. The Google Assistant on Android Wear 2.0 works like it does on other devices meaning that saying 'ok google' will activate it.
Besides that, Android Wear 2.0 is finally capable of downloading apps directly from the watch interface without the need of accessing a phone application to download an app. What this means is that, iPhone users will be able to download third party apps and watch faces when they pair their Android Wear 2.0 device to an iPhone.

Google says that Android Wear watch makers will begin rolling out the Android Wear 2.0 update to compatible devices in the coming weeks. Below is a list of devices currently eligible for the update.

Android Wear 2.0 compatible devices:
— Asus ZenWatch 2
— Asus ZenWatch 3
— Casio Smart Outdoor Watch
— Casio PRO TREK Smart
— Fossil Q Founder
— Fossil Q Marshal

After hyping things up for several weeks, today LG is officially showing off their brand new flagship smartphone, the LG V20. According to LG, the new V20 combines the best of the LG G5 from earlier this year and also the best of last year's LG V10. Gone is the plastic design of the V10 as LG has built the LG V20 out of aluminium and a new silicon polycarbonate material which helps the V20 survive drops.

Gone is the modular design of the LG G5 from earlier this year but the LG V20 still features a (somewhat) modular design. The back of the LG V20 can pop off to reveal the removable battery alongside the SIM and microSD card slot. The new V20 might not inherit the V10's design but it does retain the always on display on the top right corner of the screen.

LG V20 Key Specifications

— 5.7-inch 1440P IPS Quantum display
— Secondary 1040 x 160 resolution IPS Quantum Display
— Snapdragon 820 SoC
— 4GB RAM
— 64GB expandable memory
— 16MP f1.8 + 8MP f2.4 rear camera
— 5MP f1.9 front camera
— 3,200mAh battery w/QC3.0
— Android 7.0 Nougat w/ LG UX 5.0
— 159.7 x 78.1 x 7.6mm
— 174g
— Titan, Silver, Pink
— MIL-STD 810G

The highlight of the new LG V20 is it's 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by ESS Technology. What this means is that the LG V20 can deliver better audio performance without much distortion. Additionally, LG has also partnered up with B&O to tune the audio performance of the V20 and select regions will include a pair of B&O earphones alongside the purchase of the LG V20.

Beyond that, the LG V20 also comes with a new camera setup that is similar to that of the LG G5 from earlier this year. There is both a standard 16MP sensor and an additional 8MP sensor that provide wide angle shots. In terms of camera features, LG is going all out with the camera on the LG V20 as it has Laser Detection AF, Phase Detection AF, Contrast AF, Steady Record 2.0 (which uses OIS and EIS for steady videos) and Hi-Fi recording.

All of this combined makes the LG V20 the most feature packed smartphone camera period.

Overall, LG's new V20 smartphone looks to be a pretty solid option for a flagship phone. It's not as flashy compared to Samsung's recent Galaxy Note7 but it does have all the features you expect from a flagship phone at this time and day. Things like a USB Type-C port, some form of durability rating, a great camera, a removable battery, quick charging support and a fingerprint scanner.

Being the first device to come with the latest version of Android is an advantage but it's debatable whether having Android 7.0 Nougat first will make a difference as LG does have their Android skin atop the software on the V20.

LG will begin offering their LG V20 smartphone in Korea and other regions by the end of September 2016.

The next version of Android is poised to receive a name within the next couple of weeks and alongside that, we are also expecting to see a new Nexus phone. But if you are looking for a modern smartphone that is capable of the latest and greatest without the high price tag, the Nexus 5X by LG might be your best bet.

LG Nexus 5X Key Specifications

— 5.2-inch 1080P IPS LCD display
— Snapdragon 808 SoC
— 2GB RAM
— 32GB expandable memory
— 12.3MP f2.0 rear camera
— 5MP front camera
— 2,700mAh battery
— Android 6.0 Marshmallow
— 147 x 72.6 x 7.9mm (136g)
— White, Black
— USB Type-C

The Nexus 5X was announced alongside the Huawei made Nexus 6P last fall and the Nexus 6P has been available in Malaysia since December of last year. But according to a report by Amanz, the source confirms that Brightstar (the distributor of LG phones in Malaysia) will begin offering the LG Nexus 5X in Malaysia beginning July 2016.

In terms of pricing, the LG Nexus 5X will be officially priced at RM 1,199 in Malaysia and will be available through official distributors in July 2016. Compared to budget android phones that have been coming out recently, the Nexus 5X might look a little expensive but you do get stock Android in return. It is also worth to note that the Nexus 5X will be guaranteed at least another year of official updates.

Samsung and LG have famously shown off bendable screens in the past but none of them have actually talked about them extensively since then. But it looks like Lenovo is ahead of the possible trend as they have just revealed that they are working on devices with flexible displays. This news comes after multiple reports stating that Samsung will be releasing a flexible smartphone in 2017

Lenovo's prototype / concept of a flexible display is actually pretty feasible as it is supported by hinges. Something that Lenovo has been heavily investing. While Lenovo did show off an actual hardware product today, the company says that their prototype is still not fully functional but expect to see Lenovo release an actual phone/tablet that can bend in the next year or so.

During Mobile World Congress 2016, LG unveiled their new flagship, the G5 which included the semi modular system that allows the base to be undocked to access the removable battery and swap it with different modules. While LG did opt for an aluminium build for the G5, another major difference between the LG G5 compared to the older LG G2, LG G3 and LG G4 is that the iconic rear mounted volume rocker has been moved to the sides. The back however still has the power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

But it looks like LG might very well go back to that iconic button placement for their next major smartphone as their subsidiary, LG Innotek has just announced a new breakthrough which is a fingerprint sensor module that is embedded directly into the cover glass. Despite having an embedded fingerprint scanner without any physical buttons, this new cover glass will retain the durability of a standard cover glass.

In the past, one of the biggest reasons to get a Nexus phone was because of vanilla android and the ability to get the next great version of Android from day 1. In the last couple of years, Google start making Nexus devices more competitive in terms of pricing and today, Google is once again putting up another reason for you to get a Nexus phone.

Google is calling this Live Cases and the new $35 case available exclusively through the Google Store will enable you to build a custom case from your personal image and in addition to that, when the case is attached to either the Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X, the wallpaper will automatically match the case you have. Additionally, on the back of the case is also a secondary button that users can map to launch any application of their choice
This new concept is pretty interesting and it looks like Google got some inspiration from Motorola's Moto Maker interface as the Live Case design dashboard is pretty similar. At $35, this new Live Case is currently exclusive to both the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P and is also limited to regions which have access to the Google Store. Users can opt in to print their favorite photo on the case or a map so you don't end up getting lost.

Starting off MWC 2016 this year is LG and to no surprise at all, the company is unveiling their latest flagship creation which redefines it's previous designs. Firstly, the device will be called the LG G5 and unlike other LG flagship in the past, the LG G5 is the first one to sport a metal unibody design coupled along with chamfered edges. Another radical change is that the rear volume rockers which has been part of LG's flagship line for 3 years is now only left with a rear mounted power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner on the LG G5.

But what fundamentally sets the LG G5 apart from other flagships is that LG has built in a modular system which they are calling as 'friends'. This feature utilizes the power of the LG G5's removable chin bar which also gives access to the 2,800mAh battery to enable the LG G5 to expand it's functionality to have features like a camera grip and a 32-bit DAC. Currently, there's only 2 options for the magic slot but LG is claiming that their partners will also be making accessories to take advantage of that special slot on the LG G5.

Another new addition in terms of the hardware is a dual camera setup on the back of the LG G5. No, this is not some crazy setup to get 3D images but LG is leveraging this dual camera setup on the LG G5 to provide wide angle photos and images in contrast will be 1.7 times wider compared to conventional lenses.

That's not all in terms of added functionality as LG is also announcing a range of optional accessories called 'friends' to complement the LG G5.
  1. LG 360 CAM - A 360 camera that comes with dual 13MP 200-degree wide angle cameras and is capable of taking 2K video with 5.1 surround sound audio.
  2. LG 360 VR - A VR goggle that connects via USB C to the LG G5 and is able to simulate a 130-inch TV viewed from 2 metres away. Compatible with Google Cardboard apps and photos and videos captured with the LG 360 CAM.
  3. LG Rolling Bot - A companion device that rolls like a ball when capturing images with it's embedded 8MP camera. The camera can be used as an IP camera to remotely monitor through Wi-Fi from the LG G5.
  4. LG CAM Plus - A versatile camera module that attaches to the LG G5's battery slot to provide a stable grip for the photographer and adds a physical power, shutter, record, zoom button alongside the extended 1,200mAh battery.
  5. LG Hi-FI Plus - A 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC developed in collaboration with B&O PLAY improves audio quality on the LG G5.
At the moment, LG is not revealing the pricing of the LG G5 or the 'Friends' (accessories) but LG says the LG G5 will rolling out in South Korea on March 31 and the United States on April 1 followed by key markets in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Approximately 200 carriers and operators worldwide have committed to offer the G5 in their local markets.

UPDATE 29/3/2016: Article updated to reflect global availability of the LG G5

For a moment, it seemed like LG was only focusing on their flagship devices but the announcement of the LG X-series yesterday shows the company's interest in expending their mid-range offerings. As the official sequel to last year's LG G4 Stylus, the new LG Stylus 2 looks to be yet another product line that LG is branching out with their device strategy.

Similar to it's distant predecessor, the new LG Stylus 2 is all about the rubber tipped stylus which pairs up nicely with various software enhancements that LG is implementing to take advantage of that dedicated stylus. That's not all, the new LG Stylus 2 also boasts a new Pen Keeper feature that alerts you when the you misplace the pen.

The LG Stylus 2 is by no means a flagship device but it does have a pretty large 5.7-inch display paired with a quad-core SoC to make the LG Stylus 2 a pretty decent mid-range device. Just like the LG G5 and the LG X-Series, the LG Stylus 2 will be on LG's booth during Mobile World Congress 2016.

“LG Stylus 2 provides both the big screen and premium notetaking functions of a premium large phone at a price of a mid-tier phone,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “This device is another example of our commitment to the mass-tier segment where there is so much opportunity for growth and creativity.”

Just last week, LG officially confirmed the LG G5 will be debuted during MWC 2016 with their announcement of the official LG G5 case. It seems that LG is not only planning to display the LG G5 at their MWC 2016 booth, the newly announced LG X Cam and LG X Screen will be also be making an entrance alongside LG's new flagship smartphone, the G5. The reason why LG is launching this new series at MWC 2016 is because the new LG X Cam and LG X Screen are both mid-range devices with flagship features.

Essentially, the new LG X Cam is the device with the excellent camera from LG's flagship line and the LG X Screen is the one with a high-end display that came alongside with the LG V10. The camera on the LG X Cam is described to be a dual camera setup which will provide unrivaled performance in this price point and the design of this device includes a 'seamless 3D bending glass' that gives the LG X Cam sleek form factor. The LG X Screen in the other hand comes with a glass fiber exterior design and also includes the always-on second screen that debuted with the LG V10

In terms of actual hardware, the LG X Screen is the smaller one with a 5-inch display and the LG X Cam is the bigger of the two with a 5.2-inch display. Both devices will debut during MWC 2016 alongside the LG G5 and is expected to go on sale in Asia, Europe and Latin America in March 2016.

While flagships smartphones didn't make the cut during CES 2016, the attention is now moved towards MWC 2015 as both Samsung and LG are expected to tank it out with their new refreshed flagships for 2016. There has been talks about the Galaxy S7 and LG G5 over the holiday season but those were just rumors and reports.

If you were hoping that Samsung will be dishing out something totally new this year, you're out of luck. Prolific phone leaker, Evan Blass is confirming that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will retain most of the design aspects of last year's Galaxy S6. The overall metal and glass build is retained but this time around, Samsung is re-introducing the microSD card slot and IP67 certification like on the Galaxy S5 (according to the source).

Expect to see the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge debut officially during MWC 2016 in Barcelona and the device will be rolling out globally in early March.

CES has always been a big trade show for everything electronic but it has never been a place for smartphones and tablet, not high end devices to say. To stay true to this mantra, LG is launching a new LG K series smartphone lineup which has a mid-range price paired flagship features.

Software features like Gesture Shot, Gesture Interval Shot and Tap and Shoot which were previously only available on LG's flagship devices will be available on the new LG K10 and LG K7. In terms of design, both the LG K10 and LG K7 will be the first to incorporate LG's new glossy pebble design language (sounds like something straight out of Samsung) and a 2.5D arc cover glass to create that unibody look and feel.

In terms of the actual hardware, both devices are powered by a quad core processor, LTE and 3G versions, 8 and 13MP cameras and the signature rear button placement of LG devices. Both the LG K7 and LG K10 will be available later this year and CES 2016 visitors can check out the device in person at LG's booth in Hall #8204 of the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 6-9.

The trend on releasing two flagship smartphones have been set by Apple last year and this year Google is bucking up on that trend with the release of the LG made Nexus 5X and the Huawei made Nexus 6P. While the Nexus 5X is still not in the market, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is officially launching the Nexus 6P in Malaysia.

A full metal anodized aluminum unibody, 3D curved glass, chamfered edges, a USB Type C charging port and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The new Nexus 6P is not just a way to experience all the new additions to Android 6.0 Marshmallow but it retains all the premium grade hardware unlike previous Nexus devices.

Huawei Nexus 6P specifications

  • 5.7" QHD AMOLED display
  • Octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 CPU
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 32/64/128GB memory
  • 12.3MP camera
  • 8MP front camera
  • 3,450mAh battery
  • 159 x 77.8 x 7.3mm (178g)
  • Aluminum or Graphite color

Beyond all the fancy hardware that Huawei has built, the Nexus 6P comes with a new sensor on the back called Nexus Imprint. It is basically a fingerprint scanner that is fine tuned with Android and things like authorizing and unlocking the device is now officially supported on Android so you can rest assured that you data is safe. This does include support for the Android Pay system but there is no support for a mobile payment system in Malaysia yet.

As for the price of this premium Android experience, Huawei Malaysia is pricing the Nexus 6P it at RM 2,698 which is a pretty odd number actually but this puts the new Nexus 6P in between all the flagship android smartphones in terms of pricing. But do note that this price is for the 64GB model and that the Nexus 6P will support LTE in malaysia.

The Nexus 6P will be available for purchase online starting December 10 through both Lazada and Vmall for RM 2,698 and the first 600 customers will receive a free Chromecast.

LG might have just unveiled a brand new Nexus phone for Google but they aren't stopping there as their new V10 android smartphone is now official. Basically, the LG V10 is roughly a LG G4 with identical specifications but the main difference is that the V10 comes with a secondary display that is always on.

Besides the 5.7" QHD IPS Quantum Display, the LG V10 also comes with a horizontal strip display (2.1" IPS Quantum Display with 160 x 1040 resolution) which LG says is independent to the main display and will not affect the battery life of the V10. This second screen is right above the main display and just below the earpiece. The possibilities are endless with this secondary display as tasks like display notifications can be done through that always on display.

In terms of hardware, the LG V10 comes powered with the Snapdragon 808 chipset paired with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 3,000mAh removable battery and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. There is also a microSD card slot on the LG V10 and the device itself also supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0.

But the LG V10 is not only about the second display, it is also about the camera experience. On the back, there is the same 16MP f1.8 camera module with OIS 2.0 and the front has two(2), you read that right, dual 5MP camera which enables users to take wide angle shots. With the dual lens mechanism, LG says that the front camera is capable of taking up to 120 degree shots.

The software itself is similar to that of the LG G4 and expect to see the same software features included in the LG V10. LG will be launching the LG V10 in Korea later this month followed by the US and China as well as Asis, Latin America and the Middle East. No official pricing has been revealed yet.

While Huawei is widely expected to be making this year's Nexus device, reports in the past few weeks have hinted that LG will also be making a Nexus device this year making it a duo of Nexus phones for the very first time. Huawei's Nexus phone is expected to be as big as their P8 Max with a 5.7-6" display like the outgoing Nexus phone and that leaves LG to produce a compact Nexus phone (5-5.2" display) made for the everyday user.

Last week we saw 3D renders of both the Huawei and LG Nexus phone and this week we have the first live image of the upcoming Nexus phone. As much as initial reports suggest, LG's 2015 Nexus is not merely just an upgrade to the age old Nexus 5, it'll come with an improved design alongside the up-to-date hardware configuration.

From this image we can clearly see that there's a lot going on the back of the device with the slightly protruding camera module being accompanied by a dual LED flash array and the phase detection auto focus system. Moving down, we can see a round orb which is most likely the embedded fingerprint scanner and moving toward the center is the nexus logo in black and white.

Google is expected to unveil both the Huawei and LG Nexus phones alongside the launch of Android M in September/October so stay tuned for more on that.

UPDATE 17/8/2015 21:25: An updated image of the device has emerged without the stickers

Late last year, LG announced the L Bello which is a mid range device for select regions and today they're happy to be announcing a sequel to the device called LG Bello II. Like it's predecessor, the new Bello II android smartphone is geared towards the more budget minded crowd and unlike the recently announced LG G4 Beat which is a subset of the LG G4, the Bello II is a completely different from LG's flagship device.

Design wise, LG surprisingly didn't include their usual LG G series design onto the new Bello II. Instead, LG opted with a more generic Android smartphone design with power keys on the sides of the display and the back only has the 8MP camera and a rear firing speaker.

But, the main focus of the Bello II is on the front of the device which features a 5" FWVGA (854 X 480) display and also a 5MP Selfie focused camera. Besides also featuring 3G support, the LG Bello II comes with a quad core processor, 8GB of expandable memory and a 2,540mAh battery to round things out.

LG says the LG Bello II will arrive in Latin America and India by July 2015 and it'll be available in Europe and CIS in the third quarter of 2015. Given that LG devices are a rarity here in Malaysia, don't expect the LG Bello II to arrive officially to Malaysia.

Just last week that the LG G4 officially arrived in Malaysia for RM 2,499 and today LG is announcing the LG G4 Beat which is the more mid range offering of their flagship device. Coming months after the LG G4, this new mid range device from LG is a lot like the LG G4 itself. The device is comes with signature LG G4 features like the Color Spectrum Sensor, Laser Auto Focus, manual mode for the rear camera and Gesture Interval Shot.

On the front of the LG G4 Beat is a 5.2" 1080P IPS display and also a 5MP camera capable of taking selfies with various hand gestures. Powering the LG G4 Beat is the 64-bit octa core Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM.

Turning to the rear of the LG G4 Beat, the signature LG power/volume button placement is present and the 8MP camera (13MP for Latin America) on the back has software enhancements similar to that of the original LG G4. In addition to that, the back of the LG G4 Beat is removable and so is the 2,300mAh battery.

In terms of design, the LG G4 Beat is built just like the original LG G4 with the exception that it doesn't feature a leather back option. LG will be rolling out the LG G4 Beat in key markets in Europe and Latin America, including France, Germany and Brazil before rolling out globally in markets such as Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa and Turkey, among others.

No word on when the LG G4 Beat will arrive in Malaysia, officially that is.

LG G4 Beat Specifications:

  • Snapdragon 615 Processor
  • 5.2 inch Full HD IPS LCD (1920 x 1080, 423ppi)
  • 8GB eMMC ROM
  • 1.5GB RAM
  • Rear 8MP LDAF (13MP in Latin America) / Front 5MP
  • 2,300mAh removable battery
  • Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
  • 142.7 x 72.6 x 9.85mm (139g)
  • Metallic Silver / Ceramic White / Shiny Gold

Announced back in April, the LG G4 is finally making it's way to Malaysia (officially) and you can start buying it tomorrow (4 July 2015) for a reasonable price of RM 2,499 inclusive of GST. The once heavily leaked device is LG's secret weapon to take on Samsung's Galaxy S6 and in some ways, the LG G4 is the best flagship android smartphone of the year.

The LG G4 is powered by a less power hungry 6 core Snapdragon 808 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. On the front of the LG G4 is a brand new 5.5" QHD display which is apparently brighter and produces more vivid colors, there's also an 8MP camera on the front. Moving back, we see a similar setup of buttons which has become accustomed to LG devices.
Also on the back is LG's new 16MP optically stabilized camera which has an f1.8 aperture alongside the phase detection autofocus system and the color spectrum sensor. It's also worth noting that through the official camera app, LG will allow you to take RAW images and tweak camera settings if that's your kind of thing.

Now here's where the LG G4 truly differentiates itself from the flagship crowd this year, taking a jab out of Samsung, the LG G4 features a removable back, removable 3,000 battery and also a microSD card slot. Out of the box, the LG G4 has 32GB of storage and users can swap the back cover for a different look overall.

As i mentioned earlier, the LG G4 will be available for purchase in Malaysia starting July 4 (tomorrow) for only RM 2,499. At that price, the LG G4 is RM 100 cheaper than Samsung's Galaxy S6 which is a RM 2,599. For a limited time only, customers who buy the LG G4 through Zitron will receive freebies like an genuine leather quick cover case and a free battery charging kit.

Just a couple of weeks ago, LG finally unveiled their new flagship device and yesterday the LG G4 started it's global rollout. Today, LG is taking the opportunity to unveil two new devices in the LG G4 family. Both the LG G4c and LG G4 Stylus are inherently related to the original LG G4 one way another.

“The G4 Stylus and G4c are perfect examples of what we mean by a premium smartphone experience without a premium price,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “We are committed to offering consumers in fast-growing markets LG devices that not only deliver performance, but also look good while doing so. Both the G4 Stylus and G4c will surpass customers’ expectations of what an LG phone should be.”
Starting off with the more affordable LG G4c, we're not sure what the 'c' stands for but it could very well imply that it's affordable. With a 5" 720P display and an unnamed 1.2GHz Quad core processor, this handset is not going to win any speed awards. The camera on the back is a standard 8MP shooter and the front facing camera is a 5MP one.

The LG G4 Stylus in the other hand is more closely related to the LG G4. In terms of size, it has a big 5.7" with a measly 720P resolution and it does come with either a quad core or octa core CPU depending on which cellular model you choose (3G or LTE). LG has also generously included a 13MP rear camera (8MP on 3G model) and paired it up with the same Laser autofocus system found on the LG G4 and LG G3.

The highlight of this device is not only the bigger screen but also the built in stylus. However, the stylus doesn't feature any fancy digitizer to power it as it's just a basic rubber tip stylus. The advantage here is the software enhancement which LG has built into the device to make it more convenient for note taking and doodling.

In terms of design, the LG G4c and LG G4 Stylus look very similar to the LG G4 with the placement of the camera, power and volume rocker on the back of the device. The colors offered are also identical to that of the LG G4's but the premium leather stitching back is not available for either devices.

Both devices run Android 5.0 Lollipop and features signature LG G series features like Knock Code and Gesture shot which allows you to easily take selfies. With these two devices, LG is also clearly highlighting the existence of a removable battery and microSD card slot, sounds like they're taking a jab at Samsung.

LG will begin rolling out the LG G4c and the LG G4 Stylus in key markets around the world in the coming weeks ahead. Pricing and general availability of these two LG G4's will be revealed when it gets launched in the region.

After the month long struggle to hide what the internet already know all about, LG has officially launched the LG G4 today. The new flagship device from LG builds upon the successful LG G3 from last year and adds in several key improvements to compete against 2015 flagship devices from the likes of Samsung and HTC.

On the front, the 5.5" Quad HD display from the outgoing LG G3 is still there but this time around, the display has been upgraded to a Quantum Dot type display which is brighter and has better colors. Also on the front is a new carbon fiber like look alongside the LG logo on the chinbar. No capacitive buttons or fingerprint scanners, just a clean look on the front.

Turn to the back and that's where the magic happens, like previous LG devices, the LG G4 bears LG's signature rear facing button setup. The back is not only where the speaker is located, the brand new camera is also there. The 16MP Optically Stabilized camera features an f1.8 aperture which will intrun produce better images in low light.

In addition to that, the new 16MP camera on the LG G4 is accompanied with a phase detection autofocus system and a color spectrum sensor to produce true to life images. That's not all, the software that the LG G4 runs on enables the device to capture images in RAW format and a Pro mode also enables users to tweak manual settings.

Besides that, the LG G4 also comes with an 8MP front facing camera for high resolution selfies of yourself and the camera app built in will also allow users to play with a couple of modes.

Also on the back is a unique back cover design which is made out of natural leather and comes in various colors. The leather backing is actually a more premium model and the baseline model will come with a ceramic polycarbonate back which also comes in a multitude of colors.

Besides the interesting leather back, the LG G4's back is also removable and under that you will reveal the 3,000mAh battery and microSD card slot. Sounds like LG is trying to take a jab off the Galaxy S6 which features neither of these.

Under the hood, the LG G4 features an unusual Snapdragon 808 which is a hexa core CPU but similarly to the Snapdragon 810 on the LG G Flex 2, the Snapdragon 808 CPU on the LG G4 is 64 bit and does support Qualcomm's fast charging standard.

3GB of RAM is included and that is accompanied by 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot and as mentioned earlier, the 3,000mAh battery is user replaceable and LG rates the battery for 440 hours of standby time and 14 hours of talktime. Besides that, the LG G4 also support wireless charging.

Finally, when it comes to wireless capabilities, the LG G4 features the standard array of connections like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. In addition to that, the LG G4 is also LTE-A enabled and countries which have that open will be able to enjoy speeds up to 450MBs on the LG G4.

Not to mention, the LG G4 also runs on the latest version of Android, 5.0 Lollipop atop of LG UX 4.0 which includes several improvements over the previous skin.

Overall, the LG G4 looks to be a promising device and comparing it spec wise it does make Samsung feel a little heat. LG will begin rolling out the LG G4 in South Korea starting tomorrow and expect to see if going international in the weeks to come. As for the availability in Malaysia, we'll have to see when LG plans to do that given that they just recently only launched the LG G3 in Malaysia.
