Today in China, Lenovo is announcing the Moto M which is the latest budget offering from the company's phone divison. Similar to other Moto smartphones that Lenovo released this year, the new Moto M comes in a premium aluminium build and comes packed with hardware features like a USB Type C charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

In addition to that, Lenovo has also coated the Moto M with a nano coating that protects the device from accidental splashes from liquids. Lenovo will begin offering the Moto M in China from November 11 for CN¥ 1,999 (~US$ 300 / ~MYR 1,200).
During a launch event this morning, Lenovo Malaysia announced the arrival of the new Motorola smartphones in Malaysia. Both the Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available in Malaysia in November 2016 for MYR 1,799 and MYR 2,699 respectively. In addition to that, Lenovo will also be introducing the full range of Moto Mods accessories that will support both devices.
Lenovo originally announced the Moto Z series back in June and the highlight feature on this new Moto Z series is the support for Moto Mods. The 16-pin array on the back of every Moto Z device acts as a window to expand the functionality of the Moto Z. From a simple textured case to a JBL speaker all the way to a Hasselblad camera, there is a wide range of possibilities for Moto Mods.

Both devices feature front facing fingerprint scanners and the ability to connect to various Moto Mods. Lenovo makes some big waves with their new Yoga Book tablet but they have another more conventional device for the market. Enter the Lenovo Yoga 910 which is the successor to the Yoga 900 convertible. The new Yoga 910 still features Lenovo's watchband hinge design but Lenovo has included a edge to edge display for the first time ever. To top things off, the Yoga 910 comes standard with a 4K display.
But beyond that, the Lenovo Yoga 910 is a pretty decent 13-inch laptop. It features Intel's new 7th generation (Kaby Lake) Core i7 processor that can be paired up with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of flash storage. In addition to that, Lenovo is also including things like USB Type-C ports, JBL stereo speakers with Dolby Audio and a fingerprint reader.
The result of all these high-end features is that the Lenovo Yoga 910 will retail at US$ 1,299 (~MYR 5,300) for the base model and will likely go up significantly higher for the spec'd out model. Learn more about the Yoga 910 here
The 2-in-1 laptop/tablet market has grown substantially in the last couple of years with various form factors from a lot of manufacturers. Microsoft made a mark with their Surface convertibles, ASUS has been trying to make detachable PCs for quite some time now and Lenovo has been innovating on their 360 degree hinge.
But the latest device out of Beijing's Lenovo is trying to redefine the 2-in-1 convertible market. Enter the Lenovo Yoga Book, a device that looks strikingly like Lenovo's previous Yoga 2-in-1 laptops but the twist is that the Lenovo has replaced the keyboard with something that they are calling the "Create Pad"
Basically, this region serves as the keyboard of the Yoga Book and also a canvas that accepts input from Lenovo's specially engineered pen (called the Real Pen) that uses the Electromagnetic Resonance (EMR) film to detect input in real time. What's even more impressive is that if you write on paper place on the Create Pad with the Real Pen, the hardware will transfer what you doodled on that piece of paper onto the Yoga Book.
Also, the Real Pen serves as a dual purpose device. Out of the box, the Real Pen comes with a tip for digital inking but Lenovo has created a special ink catridge that can be swapped for the digital inking tip to make the Real Pen an actual pen.
Beyond that, the Lenovo Yoga Book is a pretty decent tablet constructed out of aluminium and paired with a 10.1-inch 1080P IPS display. Powering the Yoga Book is an Intel Atom X5 processor and a decently size 8,500mAh battery that will last up to 15 hours. When launched, Lenovo will be offering both a Windows 10 version and Android version of the Yoga Book which will cost US$ 499 (~MYR 2,040) and US$ 549 (~MYR 2,242) respectively.
Alongside the announcement of the Moto Z Play this morning, Lenovo also showed off a new Moto Mod from camera maker Hasselblad. The company famously known for it's medium format camera recently announced a mirrorless camera and the announcement today is the company's first dive into the consumer smartphone world.
The new Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod does not actually utilize any of Hasselblad's imaging technology but it does take advantage of Hasselblad's software algorithm. For US$ 299 (~MYR 1,200) Hasselblad's Moto Mod is pretty affordable. This Moto Mod will support all three Moto Z phones and introduces a xenon flash, a physical shutter button, the ability to shoot photos in RAW and a 10x optical zoom.
Earlier this Summer, Lenovo showed off the Moto Z family and also introduced the concept of Moto Mods. And today at IFA 2016, Lenovo is announcing the Moto Z Play, the third smartphone in the Moto Z family. Just like the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, the new Moto Z Play features the same glass on glass design and also features the Moto Mod pins on the back.
What's being highlighted with the new Moto Z Play is the battery life which according to the company is the best they have ever achieved. With a 3,510mAh battery and a 1080P display, the Moto Z Play can last up to 50 hours of mixed usage. Additionally, the Moto Z Play will also feature Turbo Charging for 9 hours of usage with just 15 minutes of charging
But beyond that, the Moto Z Play looks to be an affordable alternative of the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. For what it's worth, the Moto Z Play features the 3.5mm headphone jack which the Z and Z Force left out. Lenovo will begin offering the Moto Z Play globally beginning September 2016 for €499 (~US$ 556 / ~MYR 2,278)
Samsung and LG have famously shown off bendable screens in the past but none of them have actually talked about them extensively since then. But it looks like Lenovo is ahead of the possible trend as they have just revealed that they are working on devices with flexible displays. This news comes after multiple reports stating that Samsung will be releasing a flexible smartphone in 2017
Lenovo's prototype / concept of a flexible display is actually pretty feasible as it is supported by hinges. Something that Lenovo has been heavily investing. While Lenovo did show off an actual hardware product today, the company says that their prototype is still not fully functional but expect to see Lenovo release an actual phone/tablet that can bend in the next year or so.
Today at Lenovo Tech World 2016, the company rounded up their keynote with the new Moto Z family. This new Moto Z series will completely replace the old Moto X series and the new name reflects upon the new design change that Lenovo is introducing with the new Moto Z and Moto Z Force which comes with a new unibody metal design.
Lenovo is calling their two new flagship Moto smartphones as the most thinnest flagship smartphone. At just 5.2mm thin, the Moto Z is definitely going to be an eye catcher. On a side note, it seems that the thinness comes at a price as both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force will not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack but there will a USB Type-C adapter included with the phone.
In addition to the new design, Lenovo is also introducing Moto Mods which will be an extension of their existing Moto Maker customisation. Moto Mods will be available alongside the new Moto Z and Moto Z Force and at launch, there will be three first party mods like a JBL case, a projector and also a battery extender.
The concept behind Moto Mods is very much similar to the LG G5's modular accessories but Lenovo says that they are committed to the idea of Moto Mods and say that future Moto Z smartphones will be able to re-use the modules released today. That is a bold statement and in addition to backwards compatibility with Moto Mods, Lenovo has also partnered with companies like Incipio and Mophie to create Moto Mods for the Moto Z
Additionally, Lenovo is also inviting developers to contribute to the Moto Mods platform by creating a developer hardware kit that enables third party developers to come up with innovative designs. To top things off, Lenovo's Capital and Incubator Group will be offering up to US$ 1,000,000 in equity funding towards the company or individual which comes up with the best Moto Mods.
But beyond the magical pins behind the Moto Z, these two new smartphones are the new flagships to beat. Lenovo has decked out the Moto Z and Moto Z Force with the best of the best. Both devices come with fingerprint scanners, a big battery, a premium build and a USB Type-C port. While these two smartphones are not IP rate, Lenovo has included a nano coating to help them endure splashes. And in the case of the Moto Z Force, the smartphone is once again coming with Motorola's shattershield display that Lenovo is claiming to be virtually indestructiable.
Both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force look virtually the same and the biggest difference between both these devices is that only the Moto Z Force comes with the shattershield display while the Moto Z will comes with a regular Gorilla Glass 4 screen. Also different is the cameras, the Moto Z Force will come with a better 21MP rear camera.
And last but not least, both devices will come with Lenovo's TurboPower technology that provides the Moto Z and Moto Z Force with up to 15 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging.

Lenovo says that the Moto Z family will be available globally by the end of the year and US carrier Verizon will be the first to offer these smartphones under the Moto Z Droid Edition and Moto Z Force Droid Edition names. Unlocked versions of the smartphones will be available worldwide beginning September 2016.

At CES this year, Lenovo revealed that they will be releasing the first Tango (formerly known as Project Tango) smartphone by Summer 2016 and today at Lenovo's Tech World 2016, the company did just that. Enter the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, the first smartphone that packs Google's Tango technology designed to bring augmented reality into our pockets.
The focus on this new phablet from Lenovo is definitely the optics on the rear of the device. The Phab 2 Pro comes with 4 lenses on the back that includes the main 16MP sensor paired alongside wide angle cameras and also a depth sensing module. All of these combine to make the base of Google's Tango technology that enables augmented reality experiences.
According to The Verge, there will be at least 25 new applications alongside the release of the Phab 2 Pro later this year and by the end of the year, both Google and Lenovo are expecting over 100 applications to be available. These applications ranging from location based and games will take advantage of the Phab 2 Pro's array of cameras.

Lenovo says that the Phab 2 Pro will be available globally by the end of the year but will begin it's journey in the US beginning September 2016 for US$ 499 (~MYR 2,020).
Earlier today, Motorola took India by storm with the announcement of the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Both devices were a big step up from last year's Moto G3 which meant that the prices were also raised. But shortly after, Motorola quietly revealed a third device in the Moto G4 family on their website. They are calling it the Moto G4 Play and judging by the specs, this device should be priced significantly lower than the G4 and G4 Plus.

Now word on actual pricing and market availability yet but the Moto G4 Play looks to be an upgraded Moto G3. Gone is the advanced camera, Turbo Charging and Moto Maker support from the G4 and G4 Plus. But Motorola did retain a big battery on the Mogo G4 Play. According to Motorola's website, the G4 Play will run a vanilla version of Android.

The 4th generation Moto G will come in two variants and will simply be called the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.The biggest difference between the two is that the Moto G4 Plus will feature a fingerprint sensor on the front and also comes with a new 16MP camera from OmniVision that features bigger pixels and a wider f2.0 aperture. Lenovo claims that the 16MP camera on the Moto G4 Plus is the best in it's class with and the first in it's class to feature a laser autofocus and phase detection autofocus system to produce better images in various lighting conditions.
Both the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus both feature the same 5MP front facing camera that provides a wide angle (84-degree) view. Additionally, Lenovo will be keeping the Motorola tradition alive with the near stock version of Android on both the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Motorola features like Moto Display and Moto Actions are still present. As for customization, Lenovo will offer Moto Maker for both the G4 and G4 Plus in select regions.
In terms of pricing, the Moto G4 Plus will begin at Rs. 13,499 (US$202 / MYR 813) for the base 2GB RAM model with 16GB of memory and the higher end model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of memory will cost Rs. 14,499 (~US$217 / MYR 873).The standard Moto G4 in particular will cost around $15 less. In the case for the Indian market, the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus will be exclusively available through Amazon India.

But if you are looking for something much more affordable that also works with your iPhone and also a modern Android smartphone, Motorola has got you covered. The 2015 Moto 360 editions is officially making an entrance to the Malaysian market today.
Both the Sport and the Standard Moto 360 that comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes will be available in Malaysia starting today through authorized reseller. Unlike in the US, the 2015 Moto 360 that is coming to Malaysia cannot be customized with Moto Maker and it'll come down to 4 version which is the 42mm model in Black and Rose Gold, the 46mm in Silver and the Moto 360 Sport in Black.
As mentioned earlier, the 2015 Moto 360 will work with both iPhone and Android devices but if you do pair it with a supported (iOS 8.2+) iPhone, you will be limited to select features only. But in terms of hardware features, both the 2015 Moto 360 and Moto 360 Sport comes with a nearly circular display, an IP67 rating, a 300mAh battery that will survive a full day of work, optical HR sensors on both and the Moto 360 has an extra barometer included.

Lenovo has been doing some great things recently with the devices and at CES, they are announcing a partnership between Google to build a Project Tango phone that measures in at 6.5" in terms of display size and will become the first consumer ready Project Tango device. Google's Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) group first introduced Project Tango at Google I/O nearly two years ago and since then, there has been a lot of hardware designed for developers but this Lenovo phablet will be the first device that average smartphone users can buy. Provided that Lenovo/Google doesn't make this device a US exclusive smartphone.
This Lenovo phablet will be running Android (possible Android N) and the hardware inside the first consumer Project Tango phone will also include chips from Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm as they are the partners of Google's 3D mapping technology. But what average users will end up getting out of this sub-$500 phone is yet to be known.
Google says they will be funding selected developers to complete their Project Tango specific application and these apps will be preloaded onto the Lenovo Project Tango phablet for end users to use. If you think the reports that Apple will be putting two cameras on the next iPhone to be amazing, the Lenovo phablet with Project Tango will come with at least 3 sensor to be able to scan objects in three dimension. We'll most likely see this during Google I/O 2016.
It is the first week of 2016 and that means that Las Vegas will be facing the limelight as the annual Consumer Electronics Show will be there for a week. To start things off, Lenovo is unveiling a couple of new Windows 10 and Intel Skylake powered computers. More specifically, the new tablet, computer an All-in-one from Lenovo comes under the Lenovo X1 brand. Namely the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Yoga, ThinPad X1 Tablet and the ThinkCentre X1 which will all be available at Lenovo's CES 2016 booth this week.
Beyond being powered by Intel's new 14nm Skylake CPUs, the new ThinkPad X1 series being unveiled at CES 2016 will come with a consistent design and these devices will be part of Lenovo's flagship lineup of Windows 10 powered devices.
The newest addition to the ThinkPad X1 series is the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet which is indeed a tablet hat has a 12" 2160 x 1,440, an Intel Core M processor, a standard USB port, a USB Type-C port and a built in kickstand. But what makes the new ThinkPad X1 Tablet a different device compared to the Surface Pro 4 is it's modular port that will accept modules like a battery extender, a projector module and another module with Intel's RealSense camera.
To top things off, Lenovo will also offer an optional $50 stylus alongside the other optional modules and also a Surface type keyboard with the signature lenovo keyboard. But bottom line, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet itself starts at $899 (~ RM 3,897) and will launch in February.
In terms of laptops, Lenovo is introducing the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga in addition to updating their well acclaimed ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Basically, the new ThinkPad X1 Yoga has the same 14" display with an optional OLED display like the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon but the former has the same hinge design like the Yoga 900 enabling the screen to rotate 360 degrees. The convertible ThinkPad X1 Yoga starts at $1,499 (~ RM 6,493) and the updated ThinkPad X1 Carbon will go for $1,299 (~ RM 5,627).
And finally to round up the new ThinkPad X1 series is the Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 which is an All-in-one system that packs a 24" 1080P display that features a USB Type-C connector that is capable of outputting to a 27" 4k monitor. Lenovo will allow you to configure the ThinkCentre X1 with an i7 processor, up to 1TB of SSD storage and up to 16GB of RAM. With it's Military grade ruggedness and design aesthetics like the Lenovo X1 Carbon, the new ThinkCentre X1 which starts at $1,049 (~ RM 4,547) will be available starting March.
Just as anticipated, Lenovo has just unveiled the Vibe Shot in Malaysia and is available for purchase today. This Lenovo smartphone in particular is not about the Android experience, rather Lenovo is pushing on the camera experience on the new Vibe Shot which comes with a 16MP optically stabilized camera and a triple LED flash array paired with a beefy infra-red AF system.
From the back, the Vibe Shot looks nothing like a smartphone with it's horizontally oriented branding and to suit the disguise of a compact camera, Lenovo has even added a two step camera shutter key to make the experience as true to life as possible.
But beyond the camera goodness, the new Vibe Shot is a pretty solid mid-range smartphone with a 5" FHD IPS display alongside the octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Other specs includes 32GB of expandable memory, an 8MP front facing camera capable of 1080P video, LTE support, a 3,000mAh battery and all of this hardware is running atop Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Lenovo is beginning the sales of the camera-centric Vibe Shot today for RM 1,399 and it's worth noting that there was a flash sale earlier today through Storekini which includes a free Moto 360 and Selfie Flash alongside the purchase of the Vibe Shot but that offer has since then went out of stock.
