Chines smartphone maker OnePlus today announced a new smartphone which is designed to replace their 6-month old OnePlus 3. The new OnePlus 3T will be replacing the existing OnePlus 3 and the newer model is mostly just a spec upgrade. It now comes with up to 128GB of flash storage and a 16MP front facing camera.

Besides the Xiaomi Mi 5, the OnePlus 3 is the best affordable flagship phone of 2016. The phone which was announced back in June is OnePlus' third flagship smartphone offering and the company has opted for a new unibody aluminium chassis this year and the OnePlus 3 brings in improvements like a proprietary fast charging technology that prevents overheating.

Probably the biggest thing about the OnePlus 3 is that the phone can be bought without an invite, something that had plagued the sales of the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. But in order to buy it, the OnePlus 3 will still need to be available in your country and in Malaysia, the OnePlus 3 is about to be available as suggested by a Lazada product listing.

Unlike last year with the OnePlus 2, OnePlus isn't partnering with Maxis to officially launch the OnePlus 3 in Malaysia. Rather, the OnePlus 3 is going to be a Lazada exclusive. We're not sure what this exclusivity means but more information should begin trickling out once the device officially arrives on August 9.

Right now, Lazada has opened up a Pre-order page and the OnePlus 3 will be officially priced at RM 1,888 in Malaysia. The OnePlus 3 is sold and fulfilled by Lazada and orders will begin shipping on August 9th

Here it is, the OnePlus 3 has been officially announced and this is OnePlus's first attempt at making a unibody metal smartphone. This time around, the are also ditching the invite system which plagued the OnePlus 2 and original OnePlus One. Being a flagship phone, OnePlus decked the new OnePlus 3 with powerful hardware like the Snapdragon 820 SoC and 6GB of RAM.

In terms of the actual hardware, the OnePlus 3 is actually pretty similar to last year's model. The fingerprint scanner is still on the front, the OnePlus 3 still features a 1080P display but this time around they have opted for an AMOLED panel, the software is still OxygenOS, the Alert Slider from last year is still present and the OnePlus 3 still comes with a USB Type-C connector on the bottom.

But there is one key difference with this new model and that is OnePlus is bringing back the NFC chip on the OnePlus 3 which was absent on their previous flagship phone. This NFC chip will enable mobile payments like Android Pay.

OnePlus, the company behind the #FlagshipKiller line of devices recently unveiled a premium android smartphone that trades of futuristic improvements for style. Dubbed the OnePlus X, the device has since then been made available in countries like the US and India but can only be purchased with the invite system (for the first 30 days only).

Well, earlier this year local telco company Maxis announced a partnership between OnePlus to officially sell the OnePlus One in Malaysia and since then, Maxis also started offering the newer OnePlus 2 to their customers. But it looks like Maxis will not be the only one selling OnePlus devices in Malaysia (officially that is) as Brightstar which also the official distributor of Motorola devices in Malaysia has opened up a Pre-order page through Lazada for the #PowerfullyBeautiful OnePlus X.

As for the price, Brightstar is pricing the OnePlus X a little higher compared to the RRP from OnePlus which is just US$ 249 (or about MYR 1,048 with today's exchange rate). For RM 1,288 you will be getting the premium metal and glass design paired with an older Snapdragon 801 CPU with a 5" 1080P display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable memory, a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP fron camera and a 2,525mAh battery.

The specifications themselves don't match up to the flagship killer standards that the company is used to but as I mentioned earlier, the OnePlus X is designed to be a device that flaunts it's looks rather than it's brains. Also, unlike the OnePlus 2, this device uses a standard microUSB port for charging and it also comes with a microSD card slot which doubles as a second nano SIM card slot.

You can now start Pre-ordering the OnePlus X through the official listing on Lazada for RM 1,288 which includes a free protective case and orders are expected to arrive next Friday (December 4) and No, you do not need a invite to buy the OnePlus X in Malaysia but we are unsure whether is this listing based on a limited stock or not

Just this morning OnePlus made the OnePlus 2 official and while they didn't specifically mention any Asian countries in the first wave of shipment, it looks like we have some confirmation now. Initially, OnePlus said during the launch that the OnePlus 2 will begin shipping to the US, India and Europe starting August 11 and Asia will get the device in Q4.

If you remembered, back in April Maxis got into an exclusive partnership with OnePlus to offer the OnePlus One on contract, on demand. Well, it looks like Maxis will again have an exclusive dibs in Malaysia as they are teasing on Twitter that they will start to offer the OnePlus 2 very soon. However, the sales of the OnePlus 2 in Malaysia will still be through the invite system.

The #HYPE is certainly over and we are finally feasting our eyes on the actual details of OnePlus's new 2016 Flagship Killer, the OnePlus 2. After weeks of teasing by the company itself and some days filled with leaked images of the device, the OnePlus 2 is officially here and the company is confident that it'll pose a risk even to upcoming smartphones. Just as expected the device comes with a set of flagship worthy specifications which include the Snapdragon 810 CPU in the V2.1 revision, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 16/64GB of internal storage, the reversible USB Type-C port and a 5.5" 1080P display.
OnePlus said that they did not opt to go with a 2K display because it does not give any visual benefits to the human eye and the 1080P display is included to help preserve battery life. Speaking of battery life, the OnePlus 2 comes with an even larger 3,300mAh battery that is non-removable.

Beneath the swap-able back covers which OnePlus plans to offer is an interesting inclusion to a flagship android smartphone, dual SIM card slots. The OnePlus 2 features dual nano SIM card slots which is both capable of connecting to 4G networks at the same time. In between all of that, there is the new 13MP camera which at first doesn't sound like a major upgrade over the original OnePlus One but the company made some changes in the optics.



The OnePlus 2 comes with a 13MP camera sensor that is 1.3 microns big and that itself is bigger than standard smartphone sensor but it's still smaller when you compare it with other camera oriented smartphones out there. With the bigger sensor size, the OnePlus 2 is able to take better low light images and besides that, the camera is also aided with an OIS system to help stabilize video and also provide stability for low light photography. Additionally, the OnePlus 2's new and improved 13MP camera is also paired with a laser autofocus system which helps it focus in just 0.2s.

Beyond all the impressive internal hardware, the OnePlus 2 is also a pretty sleek looking device with a premium steel frame with a subdued color. Like before, the back of the OnePlus 2 is removable and the company will be offering a couple of StyleSwap covers if the user wants more than the sandstone black back cover that the device comes with.

Like all flagship smartphones, or any smartphone in general, the OnePlus two comes with a volume rocker and power button but in addition to that, OnePlus has also engineered a third button which they're calling an Alert Slider which will automatically change your notification priority into three separate modes. This is a pretty interesting concept for a physical button that manages notifications.


Looking at the front of the OnePlus 2, the company kept the clean slate look from the OnePlus One by keeping the front clean from any branding but with the new OnePlus 2, the front of the display now comes with a button on the bottom. That is indeed a fingerprint sensor on the bottom and it'll work with various software enhancements made into Oxygen OS.

In the software side of things, the OnePlus 2 is rocking Oxygen OS which is not stock android but OnePlus says their software package includes improvement which will benefit the user and one of them is the ability to choose between capaciticitive keys or on-screen keys. The launcher itself looks like stock android and Oxygen OS does allow you to put a custom icon theme over the launcher.

As for pricing and availability, the OnePlus 2 will again feature the invite system and you will need to grab hold of an invite in order to actually buy the smartphone. But the company assures that invites will be thrown out quicker this time as they ramp up production. Like before OnePlus will be offering both 16 and 64GB storage options and do not that the OnePlus 2 doesn't come with a microSD card slot.

It'll be $329  (~RM 1,255) for the 16GB model and $389 (~RM 1,483) for the higher end 64GB model. The price is just a little bit more than the OnePlus One and overall, the OnePlus 2 does look like a good deal. OnePlus says they will start shipping orders to the US, India, and Europe starting August 11 and the device will arrive in Asia by Q4 2015. Given that Maxis recently partnered up with OnePlus to be the first to offer the OnePlus One without an invite, i'm confident that Maxis will try to secure a deal like that.

After several weeks of heavy teasing by OnePlus, the company will finally unveil their second "flagship killer" next Monday. Whilst we already know most of the core features of the OnePlus 2 which was officially teased by the company itself but until today there wasn't any credible images of the device itself.

Well, it's our lucky day today as the FCC equivalent of China has processed the device and this is our very first look at the OnePlus 2 design. As is, the design is quite minimalist on the front with only has what looks like a fingerprint button disguised as a home button on the bottom and like the OnePlus One, the front is a clean black slate.

Turning over to the back, we see the OnePlus logo right below the camera setup which includes a dual LED flash, the 13MP camera module and the laser autofocus system. For a recap, the OnePlus 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 CPU alongside 4GB of RAM and it'll also be coming with a USB Type-C connector.

Last year, OnePlus started their 'Flagship Killer' campaign to promote their first device, the One. It's been a year and a OnePlus Two is only expected to come in Q3 2015 and in the mean time, the company today is announcing that they are permanently dropping the price of the OnePlus One by $50 bringing the 16GB OnePlus One to $249 and the 64GB Sandstone Black OnePlus One to $299.

That's not all that they're announcing today, their latest partnership with Dropbox will give bundle a Dropbox Pro which usually costs $99 a year for only $50. This offer however will only be valid for the 64GB OnePlus One and this bundle will cost $349.

As for what you'll be getting with Dropbox Pro, secure sharing and 1TB of storage is included with this plan and you can link Dropbox Pro with Android, iOS or Windows devices to sync data. However, the catch is that this offer is only currently valid in US, Canada and EU. Customers can take advantage of this offer starting June 11.

Just last week we saw reports that Maxis is gearing up to offer the OnePlus One in Malaysia. As it turns out, the deal between Maxis and OnePlus is the company's first deal between a mobile carrier. OnePlus claims that the overwhelming response from fans in Malaysia inked the deal between Maxis to exclusively offer the OnePlus One in Malaysia without going through the invite system.

This comes just after OnePlus announces that the OnePlus One is officially jumping off the awful invite system in the countries which the company is offering the device. Well, they did also mention that although the invite system is gone for now, their next flagship device will see the return of the invite system.

Maxis's collaboration with OnePlus means that customers will be able to purchase the OnePlus One directly from Maxis either with a Maxis One plan or totally contract free. Besides that, OnePlus will also be offering customers a 1 year local warranty with the device.

Starting today (22 April) customers will be able to buy the OnePlus One from Maxis's online store and in-store purchases will be available in mid-may. The 64GB OnePlus One is priced in at RM 859 with a Maxis One plan and RM 1199 to buy the device outright without a contract

Just about a year ago, the internet was flooded with the tagline "flagship killer" and on April 25 2014, the OnePlus One officially went on sale. But the catch is you'll need to get yourself an invite to purchase the One. One year later, the invite system is still there but more widely available.

Well today, Maxis officially confirms they will be exclusively carrying the OnePlus One in Malaysia. This comes after the fan meetup they held earlier this year in which fans got the chance to try out the device personally.

If you're not familiar with the OnePlus, it is formed in 2013 by Oppo's ex-chairman and currently they only have one smartphone in their product line. The OnePlus One has been quite a success to the company as they managed to sell more than 500,000 units even with the ever so selective invite system.

But what's unique about the OnePlus One is that it runs CyanogenMod out of the box but since then both companies have had their differences and just this week, OnePlus released Oxygen OS which is the official OS for the device.

Under the hood, the OnePlus One features a Snapdragon 801 CPU, a 5.5" 1080P display which was quite respectable when it came out last year. On the back, the device features a 13MP camera capable of 4K video, a 5MP front facing camera and 32GB and 64GB storage options.

From the looks of the poster above, the OnePlus One's RRP is 1,299 and Maxis plans to offer it for only RM 959 with a MaxisONE package. and No, you don't need to have an invite to purchase this device from Maxis.

Is it worth the money, well i don't think so. Given that there are rising rumors of two new OnePlus devices in the pipeline, i would highly recommend you to give it a little wait for a better offer.
