Alienware might've missed Computex last month but the company is back at full force for E3 2016. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Alienware, they are announcing a couple of new products that take advantage of the latest and greatest the industry has to offer.


Firstly, it is the Alienware 13 OLED which is a first of it's kind. Alienware says they are the first to put an OLED display on a gaming laptop and this means that the display on the Alienware 13 OLED has an impressive 100,000: 1 contrast ratio to deliver the best viewing experiences. The QHD OLED touch display is designed in partnership with Samsung so you can expect a good display.

The Alienware 13 OLED can be configured with 6th generation Core i5 and i7 processors paired with up to 16GB of DDR3L memory. In terms of graphics horsepower, there is the option of a GX 960M with 2GB of video memory or the GTX 965M with 4GB of video memory. Price begins at US$ 1,299 (~MYR 5,400)


Next up in line is the Alienware Alpha which is the smallest gaming pc from Alienware. What's interesting about this new model is that in select models, Dell is including an additional port than enables Alienware's Graphic Amplifier that will enable this tiny pc to run VR and 4K games.

Alinware's new console sized PC can be configured with 6th generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, up to 16GB of RAM and can be configured with either a GTX 960 or Radeon R9 M470X graphics card. Pricing for the Alienware Alpha begins at US$ 599 (~MYR 2,500)


And finally, we have the two Alienware tower computers. Most notably is that both systems can be configured with dual graphics from either AMD or Nvidia. The Alienware Aurora (pictured above) is a more mainstream system that starts at US$ 799 (~MYR 3,300) and begins with a Core i3 processor paired with 8GB of DDR4 memory. Whereas the Alienware Area 51 is the more extreme on that will only come with the new Broadwell-E processors that intel unveiled during Computex 2016. The Area 51 will begin at US$ 1,699 (~MYR 7,000)

At Computex 2016 today, Dell refreshed their Inspiron laptops with new hardware and designs. The latest edition to the family is the Dell Inspiron 17 2-in-1 laptop that is part of Dell's Inspiron 7000 series laptops which also includes 13 and 15-inch models. This new 17-inch convertible is also the world's first 17-inch convertible 2-in-1 laptop.

Dell's new Inspiron 7000 series laptops features 1080P displays, backlit keyboards and will come with Intel's new 6th generation Skylake processors. All three sizes of the Inspiron 7000 (13, 15, 17) will features a 360 degree hinge, a USB Type C port and Wi-Fi ac connectivity. The Inspiron 700 series will be available in US and China beginning June 2nd with a starting price of US$ 749 (~MYR 3,000)

Moving down the chart is the Inspiron 5000 series which includes 13 and 15-inch 2-in-1 devices that will come with 1080P LED screens, and up to 16GB of DDR4 memory. Dell is also putting out an option for Windows Hello facial recognition with these models. These 5000 series 2-in-1s will also be hitting US and China stores for a starting price of US$ 529 (~MYR 2,180)

Also, Dell is also releasing 15 and 17-inch laptops under the Inspiron 5000 series that can be configure with Blu-ray drives. And last but not least is the new 11-inch model that is part of Dell's Inspiron 300 series. The 2-in-1 laptop (pictured above) is an affordable laptop that comes with Intel's new processors and USB 3.0 ports. Dell will begin rolling out the 13-inch Inspiron 3000 in China and US beginning June 2nd for a low price of US$ 249 (~MYR 1,000)

Expect to see these new Dell Inspiron laptops hit Malaysia sometime this year.

Recently Alienware has just refreshed their entire lineup of gaming notebooks as well as the X51 gaming desktop. Today we will be focusing on the 18" variant in Alienware's new lineup of gaming laptops. Unlike the other smaller screened brethren, the 18 doesn't come with the newer Intel CPU's, instead they stick with the older but still blazing fast CPU's. Alienware, with the 18, brings more connectivity ports with USB 3.0, with another USB 3.0 supporting Dell's PowerShare, 7 in 1 card reader, HDMI (ver 1.4), mini DisplayPort and more.

Beyond the new hardware improvements, Dell has essentially still kept the relatively new and beautiful design but they have overhauled the internals for more performance, screaming performance. Besides options to change the base 4710MQ to a monstrous 4940MX, there are also options to configure the laptop with Nvidia's new graphics solutions. Just like other 18" Alienware's, this new refreshed model can also be configured with dual graphics options.


Alienware didn't stop there as they have also improved the cooling solution to maintain manageable temperatures for the CPU (one fan), GeForce GTX970M 6GB GDDR5/GTX980M 8GB GDDR5 (one fan per GPU) bringing three cooling solutions for this behemoth. Besides the new cooling mechanism, Alienware is touting this model to be their most upgradable laptop ever sporting Intel's 4710(M)Q, not the usual 4710(H)Q which means its using the swappable LGA based CPU's and not the soldered onto the motherboard BGA based CPU's.

At the moment, it is not yet known if the GPU's are based on MXM or soldered onto the motherboard. This laptop also has 4x DDR3L SO-DIMM slots for a maximum configurable memory of 32GB. Alienware also included up to four bays for users to populate with SATA HDD's or SATA SSD's, with the drives maximum height of 7mm, with the addition of a M.2 slot for SSD's seen on the maxed out option of the 18.


Dell is shipping the Alienware models starting today for a starting price of USD2,499 (likely to be ~RM 10,456) and can be configured with different hardware options through Dell's online store. Microsoft announced yesterday that Windows 10 will be launching in 190 countries later this Summer and after a long wait (since January), Microsoft is finally releasing a new preview build for Windows Insiders. No, this release is not one of those leaked builds which are said to be buggy but this is a official build straight from Microsoft.

Build 10041 to be exact is now available to users which select the 'fast' ring for updates and currently the only way to get the build is through the fast ring update. Microsoft says that the ISO file will be released alongside the 'slow' ring update in a couple days time.

No, the Project Spartan browser is not in this Build but Microsoft does assures that the next preview build would definitely feature the new browser. Despite that, there are several improvements in this build and one of them is the update task view which now allows you to move windows between the virtual desktops.

This new build also features a new Insider Hub which now shows some stats about how you use Windows 10. Other than that, there is nothing radically changed, Cortana is still herself and the Start menu still looks the same but now comes in a translucent hue.
