Xiaomi's new Mi Band 2 has an OLED display and a bigger battery
In 2014, Xiaomi unveiled their first wearable, the Xiaomi Mi Band. The device instantly became a hit wherever it went mainly because of it's price. But that alone managed to make Xiaomi the #2 wearable maker in the worldwide. 2 years later, Xiaomi is ready to succeed the world's most popular fitness tracker.

Enter the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, Xiaomi's third wearable device. The biggest upgrade over the original Mi Band is that the second generation Mi Band now comes with a OLED display that will display te time, steps and your heart rate. Below the screen is a shiny button that is used to activate the display and just like before, the Mi Band 2 also features a modular design so that you can customize the Mi Band 2 with a different band color.
Despite the new OLED display and the additional PPG heart rate tracker, Xiaomi says that their new Mi Band 2 is still IP67 certified and the bigger battery equates to 20 day standby time. Not as impressive as the original but the Mi Band 2 is rated to last longer compared to other fitness trackers with heart rate trackers.
The new Xiaomi Mi Band 2 will work on both iOS and Android devices through the Mi Fit application. Despite the new OLED display, the new Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is still pretty affordable at just CN¥ 149 (~US$ 23 / ~MYR 95). Xiaomi will begin selling the Mi Band 2 in China beginning June 7 and expect to see it arrive in Malaysia by the next few months.
