Xiaomi introduces their first phone with a curved display, the Mi Note 2

It was just last month that Xiaomi showed off their top of the line Mi 5S and today at a launch event in Beijing, the company unveiled their most powerful smartphone yet. The most apparent feature of the new Mi Note 2 is it's dual curved front display which is similar to Samsung's S7 and Note7. Xiaomi is also touting how they managed to make the curves on both sides of the Mi Note 2 symmetrical.

In addition to that, Xiaomi is also rounding up the Mi Note 2 package by including a 22.56MP camera that utilizes Sony's IMX318 sensor. The camera does not features OIS but the company says that the Mi Note 2 will perform well in low light situation due to the software enhancements and the extra hardware goodies like a large aperture and phase detection autofocus system.

But beyond that, the new Mi Note 2 comes with a lot of the same features the Mi 5S came with. The Mi Note 2 has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the front, a USB Type-C port that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology and yeah, the phone does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Xiaomi's mobile payment platform, Mi Pay will also be supported on the Mi Note 2.

Xiaomi will being offering the Mi Note 2 in China beginning November 1 for CN¥ 2,799 (~US$ 410 / ~MYR 1,700) and CN¥ 3,299 (~US$ 490 / ~MYR 2,000) for the 64 and 128GB models. The Global LTE version of the Mi Note 2 in the other hand will go for CN¥ 3,499 (~US$ 510 / ~MYR 2,100) .
