The Gear Fit 2 runs on Samsung's own Tizen platform and it will be capable of displaying notifications and running apps through the curved Super AMOLED display but the Gear Fit 2 is still a fitness tracker. In terms of hardware, the Gear Fit 2 is equipped with an accelerometer, gyro sensor, barometer, heart rate sensor and a GPS module. The Gear Fit 2 will be compatible with Android devices running Android 4.4 above with at least 1.5GB of RAM.

The integrate heart rate sensor enables automatic activity tracking on the Gear Fit 2 and all the data logged can be synced to S Health or any other fitness app that uses Samsung's API. Samsung will begin selling the Gear Fit 2 in the US beginning June 10 2016 for US$ 180 (~MYR 740).
