Windows 10 will be launching in 190 countries this Summer
Yes, the news is out from Microsoft's partner even in Shenzhen this morning and besides announcing several regional based updates, Terry Myerson has revealed that Windows 10 will be launching this summer in 190 countries and on 111 languages.
This is undoubtedly the biggest Windows launch ever and supports a wide range of hardware from IoT all the way to a giant Surface Hub. Earlier, Microsoft also revealed that Windows 10 will be a free update for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users (first year after windows 10 launches) which is a promising move given that what they're after is the market share.
Besides making Windows 10 enterprise ready, today Microsoft also announced a partnership with three big tech names in China; Lenovo, Tencent and Qihu 360. These three companies will help in upgrading existing Windows hardware when Windows 10 comes out and in addition to that, Tencent will be revising their application(s) to make it compatible with Windows 10.
As a whole, this strategic move made by Microsoft will result in Windows 10's success in probably the biggest PC market in the world. No word on how Microsoft is planning to expand the reach of windows 10 phones in China but given that the licensing fee for Windows devices 8" and below is free, i guess that Chinese manufacturer will definitely jump in.
