Huawei's new $300 Honor 8 smartphone comes with dual Sony IMX286 cameras
During a launch event today, Huawei showed off a new budget friendly smartphone under their Honor brand. The Honor 8 is in a lot of ways like Huawei's flagship Huawei P9 from earlier this year. The mid-range smartphone comes with some compelling features like a dual 2.5D glass design similar to that of the Galaxy S7 and it also comes in a range of attractive colors.

But the highlight of the show has got to be the back of the device which not only features a fingerprint scanner but also features a dual camera setup that is similar to the setup on the Huawei P9. The sensors themselves (Sony IMX286) are 12MP and one of them is a RGB sensor and the other is a black and white sensor.
At launch, the Huawei Honor 8 will only be available in China. There will be three variants of the Huawei Honor 8 namely, the 32GB/3GB RAM model which costs CN¥ 1,999 (~US$ 299 / ~MYR 1,190), the 32GB/4GB RAM model which costs CN¥ 2,299 (~US$ 340 / ~MYR 1,370) and the top of the line 64GB/4GB RAM model that costs CN¥ 2,499 (~US$ 370 / ~MYR 1,490).
