GoPro's new Hero5 action cameras are waterproof out of the box
Action camera maker GoPro today announced the company's new lineup of action camera. The biggest feature of both the GoPro Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session is that both cameras are now waterproof up to 10 meters out of the box. Older GoPro models required a protective case to ensure the camera does not get damaged by liquid and this is definitely a welcome change.
— 2-inch touchscreen
— 30fps burst shot
— Upto 4K 30fps video recording
— 1,220mAh battery
— Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
— RAW + WDR photos
— Digital Image Stabilization
Another thing that GoPro is improving with their latest generation of GoPro action cameras is the improved photo and video quality. Both the Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session is capable of recording up to 4K video in 30 fps and goes up to 240 FPS in WVGA resolution. These new GoPro's still feature the company's ultra wide angle glass lens to capture all the action.
In addition to that, GoPro is also debuting their hands-free voice commands that will understand simple commands like starting a video or taking a photo. On the flipside, GoPro is also introducing their new $5/month GoPro Plus cloud service that basically syncs photos and videos from the GoPro Hero5 to the cloud and can be accessed from phones and tablets for effortless sharing to social media.
The GoPro Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session will go on sale on October 2 for US$ 399 (~MYR 1,650) and US$299 (~MYR 1,200) respectively. Learn more about the new GoPro Hero5 series here
