AMD has officially taken the title of the world's fastest graphics card with it's new Radeon Pro Duo which is up to 51% faster when compared to Nvidia's GTX Titan Z. Just like the Titan Z, the new AMD Radeon Pro Duo is a dual GPU card and comes packed with two 28nm Fiji GPUs similar to the ones found in the R9 Fury X and R9 Nano.

AMD Radeon Pro Duo Key Specifications

  • 8192 Stream processors (4196 ea)
  • 512 Texture units
  • 128 ROPs
  • 1.0GHz core clock
  • 8192-bit wide memory
  • 8GB HBM VRAM
  • 350W TDP
  • Display Port 1.2a
  • HDMI 1.4a

In terms of design, AMD is keeping the Radeon Pro Duo's design simple with an integrated water cooling setup courtesy of Cooler Master. But the biggest difference compared to existing Fiji based cards is that AMD is pricing this higher than two single R9 Fury X. The Radeon Pro Duo is priced at $1,499 which is about 3 times the price of a single GPU solution. But that's the point AMD is trying to get here, the dual GPU Radeon Pro Duo is not meant to be for every consumer, AMD is solely targeting this dual GPU card for the people who want to get the utmost VR experience.

AMD says the new Radeon Pro Duo will arrive in stores starting Q2 2016.
