Samsung has brought a new SSD to the table. The Samsung 950 PRO sports an M.2 2280 form factor with speeds of up to 2500MB/s reads and 1500MB/s writes, it is no doubt using the latest NVMe technology in the SSD. Utilizing a new Samsung UBX controller paired with 512MB low powered DDR3 RAM, the NVMe SSD is, on paper, proving itself to be a quick one.

Available in two different capacities, 256GB and 512GB, Samsung also claims better power management compared to the 850 PRO lineup, stating about half the power usage at peak and idling in Device Sleep Mode nonetheless! Currently confirmed to work on Z170, X99 chipsets, Samsung aims to bring this SSD to more consumer platforms on the mobile end, though compatibility may be a big issue.

Using up to 4 lanes of PCI-E 3.0 of bandwidth, the V-NAND will definitely be saturated with data transfers. Samsung offers the SSD with up to 5 years for both capacities or TBW (TerabytesWritten), 200TB for the 256GB and 400TB for the 512GB with up to 1.5 Million Hours Reliabilty MTBF.
