Just as expected, Sony has unveiled two new smartphones with high megapixel camera on the front and back. The duo was heavily leaked online over the weekend and Sony's press release today merely confirmed what we already know. Both the Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 are categorized as mid-range smartphones but Sony has integrated quite a powerful new camera module into the devices.

The Xperia C5 Ultra comes with a massive 6" 1080P IPS display, a 1.7GHz 64-bit octa-core CPU paired with 2GB of RAM and a battery that's capable of lasting up to two days. But the star of the show is the twin 13MP Sony Exmor RS sensor which comes with HDR support and the front facing camera has a 22mm wide angle lens to get that perfect selfie. In addition to that, there's also a front facing flash on the Xperia C5 Ultra to step up your selfie game.

Sony's new Xperia M5 in the other hand is yet another camera centric phone with a new 21.5MP Exmor RS rear camera that features 0.25 hybrid autofocus which includes both phase detection and contrast detection autofocus to help you capture that perfect moment. Besides also coming with a powerful 13MP front facing camera, the Xperia M5's 21.5MP rear camera is capable of 4K video capture.

All of this is packed into an IP65 and IP68 body that comes with a manageable 5" 1080P IPS display that is powered by a 2GHz 64-bit octa core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. While the Xperia C5 Ultra comes with the standard black/white/green color scheme, the smaller Xperia M5 comes in a new gold color option that'll definitely sparkle in the limelight.

Both the Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 will be heading to select markets in the middle of August and there is no official word as to when either devices will come to Malaysia.
