Samsung Galaxy S6 Active spotted, launching soon on AT&T
With the Galaxy S6, Samsung took away some highlight features from the Galaxy S5 but in return we have the more premium looking Galaxy S6 with it's metal trim and unique glass back. Samsung laid out last year with the introduction of the Galaxy Alpha that they would stop making cheap feeling phones but they never stopped releasing different variants for their flagship device.
This year is no exception and like previous Galaxy S models, Samsung is expected to release both a smaller version of the Galaxy S6 as well as a more rugged one. Mega Samsung site, Sammobile is reporting that the Galaxy S6 Active does indeed exists and they even have a set of specs to back their claims.
According to their sources, the IP rated Galaxy S6 Active (SM-G890A) will have identical internal hardware as the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Active. This includes the 5.1" QHD AMOLED display, the 14nm Exynos processor, 3GB of RAM and also the f1.9 16MP camera. The difference however is in the dimensions which are 73.6 x 146.9 x 8.8 mm making it thicker, taller and wider than the original Galaxy S6.
Another welcomed change is that the Galaxy S6 Active like the name suggests caters for an Active lifestyle. The device will apparently come with a large 3,500mAh battery which is noticeably bigger than the Galaxy S6's 2,550mAh battery. Samsung isn't putting any fancy dual curved display on the Galaxy S6 Active but the increase in battery capacity itself is enough to sway users away? Sammobile says the Galaxy S6 Active will land on AT&T in the coming months and given that last year's Galaxy S5 was only exclusive to AT&T and Sprint, we might not see the light of the Galaxy S6 Active here in Malaysia
