Google Maps will soon support offline maps everywhere
Android isn't the only theme for Google I/O this year, also talked about is Google Maps and the service might not be getting a complete overhaul like everything else but Google is adding a well requested feature. That is offline maps, this feature closely relates to getting smartphones in developing countries.
As we all know that not everyone has constant internet connectivity and with an upcoming version of Google Maps, Google is finally flipping the switch to enable offline navigation and offline searches for everyone. This feature was previously only available for select regions.
No exact timeline as to when Google plans to roll out this feature but it'll probably take off later this summer given that it's just a simple tweak.
