Building upon their acquisition of Nokia's mobile division, Microsoft has started rebranding Nokia stores into Microsoft stores last week and today, they are launching the first Microsoft Authorized Reseller in Asia Pacific. The store located in Suria KLCC was previously a Nokia store and Microsoft has gave the store a makeover as well as put on the Microsoft brand onto the store.

Spanning two lots in Suria KLCC and strategically located in between Samsung and Apple, Microsoft will be offering both their software and hardware experiences in this exclusive store. Everything Microsoft from Lumias to Office 365 is available in store and customers will be able to experience the original Microsoft experience with the help of the well trained sales representatives.

Bruce Howe, General Manager of Microsoft Mobile Devices sales for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei said "This very first retail transition from a Nokia branded store to Microsoft in Malaysia is a big leap for the Microsoft brand in terms of scaling up out retail footprint and widens the ranging of Microsoft produces and services"


The grand opening of the Microsoft Authorized Reseller this morning was attended by a big crowd of media and also eager customers which waited in line as early as 8am. Microsoft welcomed customers to attend the grand opening as there were ongoing promotions and activities today like lucky dips, a free pair of Monster headphones with the purchase of a Lumia or Surface and also some gaming competitions.

After a few rounds around the store, i was quite content with the availability of Microsoft products and services but i was a little disappointed that the XBOX One was not offered in store. In addition to that, the labeling of specifications of products were clean and clear but the only thing missing was the retail price listing on the label. But fret not, the sales reps are will be there to assist you with your queries.


Microsoft says they are planning to transform 39 Nokia stores throughout Malaysia by the end of 2015 and these rebranded retails stores will be known as 'Microsoft Authorized Reseller stores' for premium experiences and 'Microsoft Mobile Reseller stores' for regular experience stores.
