Lenovo unveils the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus

It is that time of the year again for Lenovo to refresh their most popular Moto G lineup. Last year, the Lenovo owned Motorola updated the Moto G with more customization options and a new waterproof design all while retaining the iconic Motorola design. This year, they are shaking things up by announcing two Moto G models in two different sizes. These two device will be the first two to go under the Lenovo Moto brand.

The 4th generation Moto G will come in two variants and will simply be called the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.The biggest difference between the two is that the Moto G4 Plus will feature a fingerprint sensor on the front and also comes with a new 16MP camera from OmniVision that features bigger pixels and a wider f2.0 aperture. Lenovo claims that the 16MP camera on the Moto G4 Plus is the best in it's class with and the first in it's class to feature a laser autofocus and phase detection autofocus system to produce better images in various lighting conditions.

Both the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus both feature the same 5MP front facing camera that provides a wide angle (84-degree) view. Additionally, Lenovo will be keeping the Motorola tradition alive with the near stock version of Android on both the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Motorola features like Moto Display and Moto Actions are still present. As for customization, Lenovo will offer Moto Maker for both the G4 and G4 Plus in select regions. 

In terms of pricing, the Moto G4 Plus will begin at Rs. 13,499 (US$202 / MYR 813) for the base 2GB RAM model with 16GB of memory and the higher end model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of memory will cost Rs. 14,499 (~US$217 / MYR 873).The standard Moto G4 in particular will cost around $15 less. In the case for the Indian market, the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus will be exclusively available through Amazon India.
