This morning Microsoft officially launched Windows 10 in Malaysia and while Windows 10 has been available to everyone since July 29 through the free upgrade program for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 computers, today's launch marks the official arrival of the new operating system from Microsoft into Malaysia.

As you might already know, there is in total 7 version of Windows 10 but as a general desktop/laptop users, you'll only need to focus on the 2 version of Windows 10 which Microsoft is offering. That is Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro. For Malaysia, Microsoft Malaysia has revealed that Windows 10 Home will cost RM 629.99 and Windows 10 Pro will go for RM 1,099. Mind you that these prices are exclusive of GST so you'll need to factor in the extra 6% when purchasing these boxed copies of Windows 10.

Besides offering outright new copies of Windows 10 for users who are building a new computer or wish to upgrade from an older version of Windows, Microsoft is also providing an upgrade path from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro for only RM 520 (or RM 519.99 to be exact). This upgrade can be performed through the Windows Store application.

Well, if you thought the prices for Windows 10 copies are a little expensive, you're not wrong as the $119 (~RM468), $199 (~RM783) and $99 (~RM390) price for Windows 10 (Home, Pro and upgrade to Pro respectively) in Malaysia is higher compared to the quoted prices in USD even if you factor in the high exchange rate.

You can start buying Windows 10 copies through retail channels throughout Malaysia or through the Microsoft Online store here.
