Early last month, Oppo launched their new smartphone series in Malaysia, the Oppo R7. While they have since opened pre orders for the new R7 Plus, the company has not announced an official availability of the R7 Lite. In an assuring tone, Oppo has retracted their statement to release the Oppo R7 Lite in Malaysia and they say the vanilla Oppo R7 will be made available in Malaysia instead.

The Oppo R7 Lite basically comes with a lower resolution 720P 5" display and only 2GB of RAM compared to the Oppo R7. Other specifications of the Oppo R7 include the Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable memory, a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front facing camera and LTE support for both the SIM cards.

While the Oppo R7 Lite will not be making it's way to Malaysia, the Oppo R7 will be making the cut after all but Oppo says that they will offer the device in limited quantities and there's no official word on it's actual price. But expect it to be around the RM 1,400 range. Both the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus will go on sale in Malaysia on August 12.
