Samsung's 5.9mm thin Galaxy A8 is now available in Malaysia for RM 1,888
The Samsung and HTC competition is well alive here in Malaysia and while HTC announced the arrival of their brand new HTC One E9+ in Malaysia, Samsung has just unveiled their ultrathin Galaxy A8 in their flagship store at the Gardens Mall. Unveiled earlier this month in China, the Galaxy A8 can be purchased through Samsung retailers nationwide.

With the Galaxy A8, Samsung isn't focusing too much on the actual specifications. It's all about the design and the A8 is the latest and also biggest device in the Galaxy A series. The Galaxy A8's signature feature? It's 5.9mm thin metal construction. With those dimensions, the Galaxy A8 is officially Samsung's most thinnest smartphone ever.
In terms of the actual internal hardware, the Galaxy A8 comes with the octa core Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a pretty big 3,050 mAh battery, a 5.7" 1080P AMOLED display and a 5MP wide angle f1.9 front facing camera.
By far the most impressive spec on the Galaxy A8 besides it's thin form factor is the camera on a back which is Samsung's new 16MP ISOCELL camera that is as good as the one found on the Galaxy S6. Besides that, the Galaxy A8's design also includes a bezel-less look and the home button on the bottom is also a fingerprint scanner (+1 for Samsung).
The Galaxy A series is all about being affordable and all of that impressive hardware inside the 5.9mm thin body will only cost you RM 1,888 inclusive of GST (quite an auspicious number right?). You will be able to choose from three color options, the usual black and white options as well as a gold color option. Even if you're not planning to get the Galaxy A8, head over to a Samsung store over the weekend to take a look at this beauty.
