Back in May, Oppo unveiled the successor to the ultra slim Oppo R5 and the successor is cleverly named as the Oppo R7. Earlier today, Oppo Malaysia officially launched both the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus in Malaysia and both devices will be available to customers in the coming weeks.

Before we move forward, the Oppo R7 will not be coming to Malaysia and instead the Oppo R7 Lite will be coming to Malaysia. In terms of hardware, the Oppo R7 Lite is near identical to the original Oppo R7. It's just that the 5" display of the Oppo R7 Lite has a 720P display and it'll only come with 2GB of RAM.

The Oppo R7 Lite has a 5" display and the Oppo R7 Plus has a 6" display and both feature 1080P resolutions and are AMOLED panels. Powering the Oppo R7 Lite and R7 Plus is the midrange Snapdragon 615 processor and the Oppo R7 Plus is paired with 3GB of RAM (Oppo says 3GB is flagship grade). Besides that, both the Oppo R7 Lite and R7 Plus features a microSD card slot and the R7 Lite comes with 16GB of internal storage while the R7 Plus does away with 32GB of built in storage and both devices also feature a second SIM card slot. Yes, both the Oppo R7 Lite and R7 Plus is a dual SIM 4G device.

Through the back, there is a 13MP RGBW sensor which comes paired up with a phase detection autofocus system and also OIS support. Beyond that, both devices feature a unibody aluminum design and the Oppo R7 Plus has an upper edge over the R7 Lite by having a fingerprint scanner on the back for that extra security.

The last big change for both devices is the battery, the 5" Oppo R7 Lite features a 2,320mAh battery and the larger Oppo R7 Plus comes with a fairly bigger 4,100mAh battery. Do note that only the Oppo R7 Plus comes with Oppo's VOOC charger.

As for pricing, the Oppo R7 Lite will be yours for only RM 1,298 and will be available in the coming weeks while the higher end Oppo R7 Plus is priced in at RM 1,998 and pre-orders for the R7 Plus will start this Saturday (July 11) with a general availability set in August.
