UMobile has just given their postpaid plans a BIG upgrade, double the data for every plan*
The competition between the telcos have been strong this year and just recently Celcom unveiled their Magic SIM pack which we have reviewed and Umobile has revised their UMI prepaid plans to give users more. The next big step is to induce competition in the postpaid space and both Celcom, Digi and Maxis have already updated their sub-50 postpaid data plans to include better offers, you can check out this comparison by Lowyat.NET
Well, UMobile made a big jump today by revising a couple of their postpaid plans and probably the most significant change was to their U28 plan which has tripled in data size. From the previous 1GB of data which was being offered with the plan, for a limited time UMobile will be giving users the chance to get 3GB of data for life.
Which means, even once the promotion period, you will still get to keep that massive 3GB data plan for just RM 28 a month. Also, the U28 postpaid plan now comes with free 50 voice minutes to all networks that unlike free calls to UMobile numbers will not be brought forward to the preceding month.
As for other postpaid plans, UMobile has also generously increased the data quota and like the U28 plan, customers will get to keep that upgraded data limit if they subscribe to the plan during the promo period. Speaking of the promo period, this offer will be valid through 31 August 2015 and basically UMobile is trying to get new customers with this new promo and i'm not surprised if other telcos counter-attack UMobile's promotion in the coming weeks.
Before i forget, yes! existing postpaid customers will be upgraded to the new and improved plans which includes more data. When i received a message from UMobile this morning about the upgrade, i thought i was special that's why the gave me extra 2GB of data. Well, it turns out, the offer is valid for other postpaid users too.
