Asus's new Zenpad Tablet has accessories for everything
Making headlines as one of the first wave of announcements, Asus during their Zensation evet has unveiled a whole new tablet lineup called Zenpad. Previously, Asus did make tablets under the MemoPad brand and also the Nexus lineup but this is the new premium lineup of tablets from the company.
The two new tablets in the series are the Asus Zenpad 8.0 and Asus ZenPadS 8.0. Both tablets are powered by Intel processors and they both feature an 8" display. The higher end ZenPadS has a 2048x1536 display wheras the ZenPad has a lower 1280x800 resolution. Both devices come in quite a number of storage options, namely the Zenpad starts at 8GB and goes up to 16GB while the ZenPadS starts from 16GB and goes up to 64GB. However that doesn't quite matter as both the ZenPad and ZenPadS features a microSD card slot.
As for the camera, there's where the difference starts to come up, the ZenPad starts with a 2MP front facing camera and a 5MP one on the back while the ZenPadS starts with a 5MP camera on the front and an 8MP one on the back. Bot tablets come with the usual wireless connections and no word on a 4G/3G variant.
In addition to that, Asus is also offering several accessories like a customizable cover, power case, a Z Stylus and also a whackier cover which adds 5.1 Audio for both models.
Finally, the higher end Intel processor on the ZenPadS also enables it to feature the new USB Type-C connector with USB 3.1 speeds. No word as to when these tablets will come into market but do expect to buy it in Malaysia by the end of the year.
