Say hello to the unreleased Galaxy S6 active, complete with a 3,600mAh battery
Samsung might've wow-ed the crowd with the release of the premiumly built Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge during MWC 2015, but some users are sulking over Samsung's decision to throw away the microSD card, removable battery and rugged build. Bad habits die hard and Samsung is at it again with another version of their flagship device.
Smartly called the Galaxy S6 active, the device looks identical to that of the ruggerdized version of the already IP rated Galaxy S5. These two renders of the Galaxy S6 active comes courtesy of @evleaks and given his record for credible information, this is pretty much the preview of what's coming up next from Samsung.
Like the Galaxy S5 active last year, the Galaxy S6 active looks to be another AT&T exclusive device and the design doesn't quite differ much. The camouflage back with bulging faux screws lights up the back highlighting it's rugged and active nature.
There was no mention about the specification of the device but given the history of the Active series of devices, the specs will closely match the Galaxy S6. So, expect to see the same Exynos 7420 processor and the same crisp f1.9 16MP camera on the back. However, one thing is clear is that the fingerprint scanning home button might not make it's way to this IP rated Galaxy S6.
As to when this is available, we'll have to wait for an official word from AT&T and given the credible leaks are already out, it won't take long before this goes official
