Xiaomi plans to unveil their first smartwatch on their 5th birthday
Xiaomi has gained quite a big presence here in Malaysia with their affordable smartphones and also their ultra popular mi power banks which always seem to be out of stock. Well, believe it or not, the company will be turning 5 this year and to celebrate their success in the industry, they will be introducing a brand new device early next week.
The event is pegged on 31st March which is next Tuesday and although the invite does not reveal anything extraordinary but the company might be hinting at the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5 which would be perfect for their 5th anniversary. Well, none of this is confirmed but earlier when we were talking about the Xioami Mi Note Pro, many referred it as the Mi5.
But whether or not this turns out to be true, we have a couple of days left to ponder and see if there's any legible leaks being thrown onto the internet. Another device Xiaomi could possibly unveil is their first smartwatch which is said to run Android Wear. This would be perfect timing as the Apple Watch is going on pre-order early next month and given Xiaomi's track record of giving Apple some challenge, it's quite possible.
Besides that, the company might also announce sales/offers on current products and given the low price of Xioami devices in Malaysia, the deal might get even sweeter even if GST manages to up the prices
