Microsoft is ramping up their efforts in releasing new software and over the weekend a couple of Windows 10 build started filling up the homepage of tech blogs but these releases are just leaks and are not yet made official. Today, Microsoft's Office 2016 also gets the leak treatment and unlike previous leaks of the new office suite from Microsoft, this leak actually shows some visual changes.

We already know that Microsoft is planning to include a Cortana like digital assistant into Office 2016 called TellMe but this leak builds up upon reports last year that a 'real' dark theme will finally be coming to Microsoft Office. In this supposedly Technical Preview of Office 2016, the visual change is the now more colorful taskbar which blends in with the theme chosen

Unlike on the current version of Office which merely just layers the theme on top of either a white or grey backdrop and that's it. But, fret not as the blunder of plain looking Office suite is ending as each app (eg. Word, Excel, Powerpoint) will now be color coordinated much like the current Word/Excel/Powerpoint preview apps on Windows 10.

As for release dates, Microsoft is planning to offer Office 2016 later this year presumably alongside the Windows 10 launch. Given that the leaked version is a Technical Preview expect Microsoft to release an official preview program for Office 2016 sometime soon (maybe during BUILD 2015 next month?)
