2:21:00 AM dickwyn 0 Comments

Earlier today Samsung Malaysia launched the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear at the Sunway Pyramid convention center. Both of these devices will be going on sale next wednesday [25 September] and customers can start pre ordering the device today at Samsung stores. One thing to keep in mind is that at launch Samsung will only be selling the black and white Note 3 with the pink version coming in a later date. Additionally at launch next week only the 4G LTE Note 3 will be available to purchase with the 3G version coming in the forseen future. The Galaxy Note 3 is priced at MYR 2,399 and the Galaxy Gear at MYR 999. Another thing is that with the purchase of the Note 3 Samsung Malaysia is bundling in content and services which accumulate up to MYR 1,500. The content and services include 50GB of Dropbox for 2 years, 90 days of free TM wifi access, 1 month trial of TheStar epaper, download 500 songs in 6 months via Samsung Music ant etc. If you would like to find out more about the Galaxy Note 3 you can read the featured article in out international blog

Nokia Lumia 1020 Launches In Malaysia For RM 2,499

7:01:00 AM dickwyn 0 Comments

Earlier today Nokia Malaysia officially launched the 41 MP Lumia 1020 in Malaysia. The device was announced back in July and next wednesday (September 25) customers will be able to buy the device from nokia stores for a price of MYR 2,499. The price for the device seems to make a very big dent, i was expecting it to be priced about 2-2.2K. Anyways, Nokia Malaysia is doing something right because they will be bundling the camera grip accessory with the purchase of the device. The camera grip alone is priced around USD$74 so basically Nokia Malaysia is expecting you to use it mainly as a camera when you purchase the device. Another skeptical thing is that on 25 of September Samsung will also be starting sales of the Note 3 which is priced MYR 100 cheaper than the Lumia 1020. If you would like to find out what i think about the Lumia 1020 you can read this article in our international blog

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Priced At RM 2,299, Goes On Sale On September 25

4:48:00 AM dickwyn 0 Comments

Last week i talked about the Galaxy Note 3 and i said that the price for the device is expected to be around MYR 2,499. Fast forward another week Storkini has started pre orders for the Galaxy Note 3 and thus they also revealed the RRP of the device which is the same as the Galaxy Note II when it launched. The LTE Galaxy Note 3 is priced at MYR 2,299 and for that price you will be given a snapdragon 800 processor. The thing which i find pretty ironic is that the 32GB LTE Galaxy S4 costs MYR 2,499 and the LTE Note 3 which has better specs costs 200 ringgit cheaper. In addition to that, Storekini will be giving a free battery pack when you pre order the Galaxy Note 3 from them. that doesn't stop there, if you pre order the device in this few days you will get a 11 ringgit rebate. The Galaxy Note 3 will be launching in Malaysia on 20 September and buyers can pick up the device at Samsung stores on September 25.

Apple Introduces The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, Hopefully Coming To Malaysia In October

11:40:00 PM dickwyn 0 Comments

Well, earlier this week Apple has announced 2 new iPhones at their September 10 event held at their HQ in cupertino. The two new devices announced during the event was no surprise whatsoever because it has been seriously leaked to the web for a few months now. The iPhone 5C is Apple's take at a more barrierless iPhone which takes on bold colors on its outer shell, it also has a plastic body which Apple says is more solid because there is a aluminium frame behind the plastic shell surrounding the body. Basically the iPhone 5C is the iPhone 5 which has just undergo a cosmetic change. The 5C will be coming in 5 different color and you can now pre order the device at the Apple Store. The second device introduced was the iPhone 5S which will be replacing the outgoing iPhone 5 and is Apple's flagship smartphone for 2013-2014. Aesthetically the iPhone 5S looks identical to the iPhone 5 but with a little cosmetic shifts. There is now a dual LED flash which has two tones to accompany your photos, the home button has also been changed aesthetically, the square on the home button is no longer there but Apple did manage to squeeze in a fingerprint sensor or TouchID sensor on the home button. Finally the iPhone 5S now comes in two new colors which are space grey and champagne gold. Additionally the iPhone 5S has a bigger camera sensor but the sensor is still rated at 8MP and Apple has supercharged the iPhone 5S with their new A7 processor which is 64-bit. Overall both of the device are clearly made for two different types of people. The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will be going on sale next week on 20 September. Unfortunately there is no solid release date for both devices in Malaysia but the prices for the devices should be MYR 1,899 for the iPhone 5C and MYR 2,199 for the iPhone 5S. If you would like to read what i think about these both devices head over to our international blog to read about it:
