Samsung will be officially introducing the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge to the Malaysian market this Thursday and pricing and availability of the two new premium flagship devices is yet to be know. At the moment Samsung has revealed the prices of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in both the US and India and from that we can already discern the prices for Samsung's flagship device(s) this year is not going to be as "affordable" as previous years.

Well, Lowyat.NET has received information from a 'reliable' source which reveals the retail pricing for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The quoted price for both the devices is a little bit higher than it is compared to previous generation devices

As you can see, the price for the standard Galaxy S6 is pegged at RM 2,599 which is RM 200 more than what the Galaxy S5 started off last year. The Galaxy S6 edge in the other hand is being priced at RM 3,099 and for RM 100 less you can get the bigger Galaxy Note edge which only flaunts a curved screen on one side.



As a whole the high price this year might be because Samsung is using better quality materials to produce and it might also be because of the weakening of the ringgit which at the time of writing this is trading at USD 1 to MYR 3.72. Also, we're not sure if these prices are inclusive of GST which might very well make the device 6% more expensive than listed.

Also keep in mind that the prices for this is presumably for the 32GB base model and if you want to go up to higher capacity models, well prepare to dish out a little bit more. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge does not feature a microSD card slot like previous Galaxy S models and there is reportedly only 23GB of user accessible storage for the 32GB model.

In addition to that, Samsung will be opening pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge to Malaysian buyers on April 3 and according to the source, customers who pre-order either the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge online will be entitled a free wireless charger which works out of the box for both devices.
