Smartwatches might be the big thing these days but in terms of market reach, fitness trackers are still leading the race. Garmin in particular is upgrading their most popular fitness tracker with GPS capabilities. The new model called the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ will soon be available for $219.99 (~RM 884) which is $70 more than the standard Vivosmart HR.

With the GPS features enabled, users will be able to track their location and pace more accurately and Garmin claims that the Vivosmart HR+ will last up to 8 hours and the tracker will last upwards of 5 days as a normal fitness tracker. Pretty respectable claims. All the usual features like step tracking, calories burnt, continuous heart rate tracking, silent alarms and notification support are present in the new Vivosmart HR+

In terms of design, the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ sports the same design as the Vivosmart HR. The 1-inch always on touchscreen display is there, the water resistivity (up to 50 atm) is also there and the Vivosmart HR+ will support both Android and iOS. Garmin will begin shipping the Vivosmart HR+ later this month for $220 in three color combinations: black/blue, purple, and blue.
