Following today's Apple event, the Apple store went down in preparation for the Apple Watch launch. At first glance it might just look like the update would be the inclusion of the new 12" MacBook but looking deeper users started to notice the price changes for the various iPhone(s) being offered on the online Apple Store.
If you previously thought the iPhone 6 was expensive when it launched late last year well, it's time to rethink that again. According to the online store, prices for both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be incremented by RM 200 and even the nearly 2 year old iPhone 5S doesn't manage to escape from this increment.
Now the iPhone 6 is listed to be starting at MYR 2,549 and the iPhone 6 Plus at 2,949, the tagline 'Bigger than bigger' is holding through not only for the size of the iPhone but the price is also getting bigger and bigger. In the meantime, the iPhone 5S which was offered at an affordable MYR 1,999 when the iPhone 6 arrived is not back to the MYR 2,149 price.
The price increase however is most likely due to the weak exchange rate of the ringgit to USD and when GST is implemented next month, the prices might be revised yet again.
