Meet the Yezz 5S which is capable of running both Android and Windows Phone
Yezz Mobile has announced their new Yezz 5S which can run both android and windows phone (well not in the same device). However despite being two similarly spec'd devices, you'll have to choose which OS version would you like on your new Yezz 5S. Sounds familiar, the recently announced Alcatel Pixi 3 could run Android, Windows Phone and even Firefox OS. This is somehow becoming a trend for budget devices and it's good to see that the users are now given the choice of which OS they would like to stick with opposed to being limited only by the hardware.
- 5-inch 720P display
- 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB of expandable memory (via microSD)
- 13MP rear facing camera
- 5MP front facing camera
- Dual SIM support (LTE)
Moving onto the specifics of the device, the headline feature is support for LTE because this is indeed a budget device. Both devices have specs as listed above and the only difference between the two is the name, exterior look and of course the operating system it's running. The Android counterpart will be called the Yezz Andy 5S LTE and will come with Android 4.4 Kitkat. The Windows Phone version in the other hand will be running Windows Phone 8.1 update 1 (8.1.1) and has a name of Yezz Billy 5S LTE. In terms of the general look and feel, the Android version will have a solid color paint job whereas the Windows Phone version will have side patches of black on the back to differentiate the two.
Both devices are expected to go on sale later this year (before Summer) and the specifications are not final yet and the software side might change as time goes. Windows Central quotes that Windows 10 might be considered on this device.
