Continuing the CES momentum, Asus has announced two new intel powered phones; The Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Zoom. Both devices are fundamentally the same in terms of raw specs, the difference between the two resides on the back of the device.

The new Zenfone 2 builds upon previous Asus phones, having that brushed aluminium back design and most importantly the intel stamp on the back. What's different in terms of design this time around is that Asus has moved the power button to the top of the device which makes not much sense given the size of this phone and the volume rocker has been mounted on the back of the device just like the LG G3. On the front we have a 5.5" Full HD IPS display which boasts a 72% screen to body ratio and a 3.3mm bezel.
Powering the devices is the 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor clocked in at 2.3GHz, 16/32/64GB storage options which is expandable via a microSD card slot, and there is also an option to top the device with 4GB of RAM (2GB of RAM comes with the base model). The 13MP PixelMaster camera on the back has a f2.0 aperture enabling it to capture up to 400% brighter photos. On the front Asus has packed in a 5MP wide angle camera for you selfie needs. Following the trend of fast charging, the Zenfone 2 can charge the massive 3,000mAh battery from 0 to 60% in under 40 minutes

Both devices will be rocking the company's new ZenUI atop of Android 5.0 lollipop. The Zenfone 2 will go on sale in March and comes in 5 different colors (grey, black, red, white, gold) and will start at $199 for the 2GB RAM model. The Zenfone Zoom in the other hands will only be available in Q2 for $399. Given the success of the Zenfone series of phones last year, Asus Malaysia will most likely be offering the Zenfone 2 in the Malaysian market. the sub rm 700 price is definitely going to attract a lot of buyers.
