Samsung Expected To Sell 510 Million Phones In 2013

2012 has been a very good year for Samsung as they managed to sell over 400 million phones and thus taking the top spot from Nokia. Additionally Samsung also continued their reign on the Android platform by dominating every manufacturer. They also introduced 2 highly popular devices and one of them is 2012's top smartphone. So for 2013 Samsung has some plans and Korea Times have went ahead and revealed it. In 2013 Samsung is aiming to separate itself from its #1 rival Apple and they are expecting to sell 510 million phones in which 390 million will be smartphones. With the success of the Galaxy line of android devices, Samsung will also release a full line of Ativ devices which are powered by Windows. They are also going to release devices which will run the homebrew TIZEN software. Samsung is going to invest $2.2 billion to the factories manufacturing their devices in Vietnamese towns of Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen by 2020 to boost output. Other sources points out that 240 million Samsung devices will be manufactured in vietnam, 170 million in china, 20 million in india and 40 million in korea. Read more about this here.
“Samsung’s proven ability to quickly produce and replace a wide range of handsets aimed at several different markets contrasts with Nokia’s struggles and Apple’s difficulties that are mainly related to parts sourcing problems,’’ said Hwang Min-seong, an analyst at Samsung Securities.
