Samsung Malaysia Launches The Galaxy Camera, Available For Purchase Tomorrow

As scheduled today Samsung Malaysia had a media event for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Camera. The android powered camera will be available starting tomorrow (29 Oct) for the price of RM 1,899. The are no teleco bundling prices announced yet but the first 5000 buyers will get a free Hotlink prepaid broadband SIM card pack with the purchase of the camera. This camera is basically a Galaxy S III with a 16.3MP camera without a phone radio. It comes running with Android 4.1 Jellybean and has a 1.4GHz quad core processor with 2GB of RAM. The screen is 4.8" Super Clear LCD screen with a 1280 X 720 resolution. The camera is  a 1/2.3" BSI sensor which is 16.3MP with a 21X optical zoom and is capable of taking 4fps photos and 120fps video. There is 8GB of internal storage with an micro SD card slot which can take up to 64GB cards. There is also a 1650mAh removable battery. HDMI and DLNA are also present in this camera.

Microsoft Sold 40 Million Windows 8 Licences In The Past 30 Days, The Most Successful Version Of Windows

Late last month Microsoft launched windows 8 and it brought a facelift to the whole windows operating system and also ushered in a lot of new hardware including touch based desktops. A few days after that Microsoft revealed that they have sold over 4 million licences in 3 days thus beating Apple's OSX Mountain Lion's record of 3 million in 3 days. Fast forward to over a month after the launch and Microsoft revealed that they have sold 40 million windows 8 licences in 30 days which mean the momentum is constant. They revealed this information first to industry and financial analysts,investors and the media at credit suisse 2012. They also confirmed that Windows 8 is outpacing windows 7 in terms of upgrades. To put things up to perspective, Microsoft managed to sell 100 million windows 7 licences in 6 months. Additionally they also revealed that several apps in the windows 8 store has passed the $25,000 revenue mark and thus this new will attract developers to develop apps for the windows 8 platform.

Samsung Sold Over 5 Million Galaxy Note II's In 2 Months

Not long ago Samsung announced that they sold over 3 million units of the Galaxy Note II. Now the sales figure has been updated and the number has become 5 million. This number was achieved under 2 months and this makes the Galaxy Note II the second most best selling Samsung device. The Galaxy Note II is currently available in 128 countries worldwide. The Galaxy Note II is available in Malaysia on all three major telecos or unlocked with a price of RM 2299. To put things up to perspective, it took the original Galaxy Note 5 months to reach the 5 million units sold mark. This is turning out to be pretty well and Samsung's Q4 sales are going to look good.

Today is November 10 and its the day is Dato' Lee Chong Wei and Wong Mew Choo's wedding. The wedding is happening tonight at the kuala lumpur convention center and the wedding ceremony will start at about 8PM local time. ntv7 will be broadcasting the event live to TV and also through tonton.com. iPhone 5 Launching In Malaysia On November 30, Pre Orders Start On November 23

A few weeks back we wrote an article which stated that the iPhone 5 will launch this week and this info turned out to be wrong. Now lowyat.net had some info on when the launch is expected to happen from their inside sources from a certain carrier. The pre orders will commence on November 23 with the launch most likely happening on November 30. So we are expecting to see the iPhone 5 going on sale by the end of this month.

Kaspersky Lab Report Shows That Android 2.3 Gingerbread Is The #1 Target For Malware

Malware has always been a problem for android and in these past year the growth of malware on the platform has increased significantly. The security firm, Kaspersky Lab has just completed a study base on the malware in android. The final findings are that Gingerbread is the most targeted version in the whole platform.   The malware however has dropped significantly in Q3 and this could be the fact that users are now migrating away from Android 2.3 gingerbread.

Nokia Lumia 920 & 820 Most Probably Coming To Malaysia In December

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagship windows phone 8 device currently and reflects what a Windows Phone device should look and feel like. The phone was announced back in September in NYC and was officially launched last week at the WP8 launch. The Lumia 920 is currently available only in Europe countries and the US this week. Also last week HTC launched the HTC 8X and 8X in Singapore and it will be available in Malaysia on November 14 for RM 1799. Today Nokia Malaysia posted via their official Facebook page that the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 will indeed come to Malaysia but the launch date is yet to be confirmed. Since we always get tech gadgets after Singapore, so we are speculating that the new Lumia devices will reach Malaysia in December. This is because The Lumia 920 is expected to launch in Singapore in early December. We will keep you update if there is any more breaking news on this.

Windows Phone 8X By HTC Going On Sale In Malaysia In Mid November For RM 1799

Last month HTC announced the windows phone 8X at NYC and the 8X is the signature lineup of windows phones. The 8X has a 4.3" HD display with a 342 PPI so images will look more crisp and clear. The 8X alongside the Ativ S is the first two WP8 devices to be reviewed by tech sites. The Lumia 920 however is still lockedown and is only available for purchase in europe countries this weekend. According to some sources the Luma 920 will come to Malaysia by the end of November or early December. These past few days the PC Expo was held at MidValley Megamall and Microsoft was having a booth there. At first sight you will see a lot of windows 8 devices but if you look closely in one corner you will see the HTC 8X which made a special appearance. The device is set to debut in Malaysia in mid November and will be priced at RM 1799. You can preorder the device now and pay later but the device will only come later this month. The HTC 8X is placed second in the line of WP8 devices which the Lumia 920. Since the 8X is about RM 1800 we are expecting to see the Lumia 920 be priced no more than RM 2000.

HTC One X+ Going On Sale This Sunday

Earlier this year HTC announced one of the first quad core phones and it was soon overshadowed by the Galaxy S III just after a few months it has been out to the world. Just last month HTC officially announced the HTC One X+ which is a pimped up version of the One X. The Onex X+ still has the same Nvidia Tegra 3 processor but now it is clocked higher at 1.7GHz. The front facing camera has been bumped up to a 1.6MP opposed to the 1.3MP on the original one. The battery life has also been bumped up to 2100mAh to further extend the battery life. The One X+ will be running Android 4.1 Jellybean out of the box. This phone will go on sale this Sunday and is priced at around 2000 MYR. This phone is launching tomorrow at a regional launch which is going to be held at Singapore.
